Do not waste your money staying at the Acacia Court Hotel in Cairns. Although it is along the Esplanade, the Hotel itself is very dated on the inside. My husband and I stayed here for two nights, on 20 and 21 October 2022. The room itself is small. It has been painted, however the paint is blistering along the walls. The dresser is old and there was only one bedside table. One of the reading lights over the bed had its knob missing and did not work. The internal room phone was not connected and the batteries in the back were corroded-so out of order. The hot water took ages to come thru and the shower head, whichever way you turned it, still spilled water on the tiled floor. The lino in the room was ripped near the bathroom door. Reception asked for a $100 holding fee on the room with our credit card and that this money would be released when we checked out. We are still waiting for this money to be released-it is suggested on Wed 26.10.2022 it will be. Why??? There was nothing worth stealing in the room! The little bar fridge only had UHT 15ml milks in it for the complementary coffee. Looking at the outside of the building, the hotel requires a high pressure, professional clean over the exterior, there is black build up everywhere. Driving up to the hotel, when we first arrived in Cairns, I was hoping that this Was Not the Hotel we had booked online thru Wotif. Their 3.5 star rating, pictures and reviews are very misleading and We are very disappointed. Elle&Norm
