Poor 2.0
Really bad experience 😒😒😒 We stayed at Vail Marriott Resort for 6 nights . It wasn’t our first stay , however it was first summer stay. Check in was a nightmare. We arrived around 1 pm and were told that guaranteed check in time is 4 pm. We stored our luggage and decided to have lunch at the hotel. It was nice experience. Food was decent and service fantastic . Since we had a few hours until guaranteed check in time, we walked around the Lionhead village , did our grocery shopping and return around 4 pm for check in. Few minutes after 4 we went to get our room key and were told room is not ready. We waited another 30 min and checked again. Room was not ready. We were told that they were busy and room is not ready. We checked after 5 pm and were told the same. Clerk said he can wave $40 Resort fee for that day. At 5.45 pm we asked to talk to the manager . We were told “Sorry, we are busy” When we asked for some kind of compensation for the wait , we were told they can’t upgrade us since we got the best suite in a hotel, so we just have to wait. Eventually, manager offered one night credit at the hotel for the future stay. We refused since at this point , we vowed not to stay in Vail Marriott Resort. We asked for breakfast vouchers and validation of Vallet parking ($40 a day). They gave us breakfast voucher and waived Resort fee ($40 a day). Vallet parking was not an option to be validated. Originally , manager offer was for 1 day , we insisted for entire stay.

Good 6.0
Good location in Lionshead Village
The hotel is an average Marriott. It can't be rated too high because it is competing against true 5 star hotels. It is more affordable and ranks accordingly. Room was clean and up to date. My biggest problem was the temperature. It was hot! Very hot. Turning the heat down did not work. We had to sleep with the balcony door open and it was "Vail kind of cold" in January. Never got cold in the room - it was that warm! It has a Starbucks in the hotel and I loved going there. They even offered 2 complimentary drinks. Very convenient. Onsite ski rental is available with a discount to hotel guests. The ski valet was not exactly what you would expect. It is possible to have them carry your skis to the lift, but you could end up having to wait a while for it to happen. The skis are carried on a cart in groups. Imagine a shuttle at the airport carrying a group. You are in that group waiting for the cart to fill up. They are at the lift base to carry your skis back without any issue. The boots are stored in a locker for you overnight and that was nice and smooth.

Fair 4.0
I am a local and decided to stay at the Marriott while driving home from the western slope. We booked our reservation online and when checking in were told about a $40 hotel service fee that was never mentioned online while booking. The only option for parking was valet and the gentleman did not even say that it was $50 for the night. When I received my car to leave there was a large scratch on the rear bumper that appeared to have been the result of the valet driver backing over a curb. There are many hidden fees. The lady who checked us in was very polite and friendly. She mentioned that if we spent money at the Starbucks on the second floor we would get $25 off our stay. The next morning we bought our usual espresso. When checking out the $25 was never taken out and we came back after skiing to get our receipt copy. We brought up this issue again and the receptionists were not thrilled to help us.

Extremely Disappointed
I was extremely disappointed. When I made the reservation my paperwork said the total due would be $207. When we checked out a $40 Resort Fee was added to our credit card. Of course, reading the fine print of my confirmation paperwork it said there would be a resort fee of $35, why were we charged $40? Especially since it says the fee includes Ski Storage, we were there in September, no snow? Our paperwork also shows free wifi, when we asked about wifi at check in, we were given a card showing our credit card would be charged $10 if we connected! The refrigerator in the room made a very consistent noise, making it very hard to sleep. I thought for a higher price, the stay would have been much more pleasant. We have had much better service with the middle of the road hotels, that give you free wifi, free breakfast and don't add extra costs for services not needed or used.

Exceptional 10.0
Wonderful experience!
The hotel was convienently located next to Lionshead Village. Although it was a bit of a walk to the gondola, the ski valet was most helpful. The smores and hot chocolate in the afternoon was perfect for my skied-out little ones. The staff was attentive, the room service prompt, and the cleaning crew thoughtful. When the staff found out that my daughter was celebrating her 13th birthday, they surprised us with milk and cookies in the room. We'd gladly go back! I had only one gripe. When checking in, I asked to use a luggage cart. The bell man informed me that the hotel was "full service," and he wouldn't let me use the cart. I felt this was a bit greedy - it appeared that he was insisting on a tip, but the rest of the stay made up for this one unpleasant experience.
