Not worth it.
Nothing spectacular. I spent over $500 for one nignt in Rome for sub par service. The young receptionists at check in were rude and asked my mother to open up her briefcase in the lobby for her passport after many hours of traveling. This could have been approached differently. You can get better service at a smaller B and B hotel around the city for many days at the same price. I won't be returning to the Savoy any time soon.

The entrance, lobby, rooftop restaurant, and breakfast area were very nice. Food and service in restaurant was very good. The bellhop and room attendant very good. The front desk reception aloof and not a welcoming presence as people come and go. They only interact with you from behind their bank like plexiglas partition if they have to. The bathroom plumbing leaks. The shower partition leaked and the marble floor got soaked and slippery. The brown rug in the room needs to be replaced. Plain ugly furniture, but the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in a nice location, so if you’re not going to be in it much it’s a 3 star hotel that you should pay 3 star prices for.

We stayed 5 nights at Savoy Roma as we travel the world. Our suite was on the 4th floor overlooking the street. Double glazed windows assisted with any street noise, and it was nice to have the option to open/close these double windows. Our room was ok, a little underwhelming. In need of some minor decoration maintenance but adequate overall. The bed, pillows, linen were comfortable. Daily service was excellent. The bathroom is extremely compact! Looks rather nice, but rather impractical. It’s a shower bath with a somewhat cumbersome decorative “telephone” bath faucet positioned on the side of the bath taking up valuable standing shower space. An oversized hand basin surround barely leaves room for the toilet…and knees. Just a 5 min downhill walk to Barberini metro station, and uphill to return. And very close to multiple bus stops. A little out of the way from the main hustle and bustle (but this was absolutely our preference). As for the rooftop bar with “Rome views” there are views, this is true, though not as magical as one might expect.

Well below expectations
While this hotel has undergone excellent upgrades, there’s numerous shortcomings in our view. As an example, the shower stalls we viewed had no place to put soap, razor or other shower needs. Shower floor extremely slippery! The rooms had paper cups only, no glasses. Very limited places to hang clothing and other items out of place. Two old elevators were small and very slow to responding. The breakfast buffet was very good will a helpful, friendly staff.
