Exceptional 10.0
Lovely hotel, perfect location
A gorgeous hotel, full of character, with super friendly and accommodating staff. We started off in a room that was a bit cramped and when we asked about moving, staff were very helpful and keen to make sure we were comfortable. Francesca on the front desk told me she was grateful to be given a chance to improve our experience. We moved to a beautiful room which was very spacious and had a lovely big bathroom. Perfect! The hotel has a really sweet little pool in the central area, kept nice and warm. A cute little bonus! Location is ideal, lots of lovely trattorias/pizzerias in the area and just a few minutes walk from the cathedral and central shopping area. The river is just a couple of streets away. We walked everywhere (with baby buggy)! Oh and there’s a nice little gelateria on the corner by the square a stone’s throw from the hotel. Only areas for improvement for us: 1. We didn’t find the beds comfortable at all. The mattresses are possibly quite old and the beds consist of two twin beds pushed together, so the middle of the bed has a lump where the edges of the mattresses meet. 2. Breakfast is generally not bad, but I found the pastries weren’t great and the coffee could have been better. But despite this I still looked forward to breakfast every day and the waiting staff were always very friendly and cheerful, and loved saying hi to our baby daughter each day. We really enjoyed our stay at the Rivoli and would be very happy to recommend it.

Exceptional 10.0
I don't write too many reviews, but I wanted to take the time for this one because this hotel is absolutely fantastic: a welcome discovery during a recent December trip! Unprepossessing from the outside, inside it is well-appointed and luxurious, including a bar, a cozy sitting room, a sculpture garden, and even a courtyard hot tub! They offer free access to an excellent health club a block away (Florence Fitness) and the restaurant (at which I had the best gnocchi I've ever tasted) has a Michelin 3-fork recommendation. The breakfast is tasty and well-presented, the staff are super helpful, and they even let you choose your checkout time (I.e. for a small fee you can stay till 3pm or 5pm, instead of checking out at noon). If you visit around Christmas time you will also find the stunning display of intricate, animated, miniature advent scenes curated by two of the staff members. It must take them weeks of work! The rooms are also great - comfortable, clean, with beautiful bathroom (I was in a "comfort double" which had a good courtyard view). This place is the very definition of a hidden gem!

Exceptional 10.0
I liked this hotel for several reasons. It wasn't like any other hotel that we've stayed in before. It had atmosphere, the staff was so attentive. The rooms were quaint, we stayed in the room with the balcony. It was so nice to go out on the patio and enjoy the ambiance of Florence. I really appreciated the larger towels in the bathroom and the extra amenities, gifts left in the room. Our room was so quiet, you couldn't hear anyone else in their room. That was a definite plus. Breakfast was wonderful. They had a very small pool, unfortunately we were too busy to experience that. I would stay here again as it was close to both the train station as well as the center of town.

Very good 8.0
Nice room but tragic breakfast...
We stayed at the Rivoli for three nights. Its only a couple blocks from the train station which is really helpful. Its centrally located but on a less than exciting street. Its fine because the interior of the hotel is nice. The front desk staff are mostly helpful. One young man who works the front desk was amazing and helpful. Some of the women who work there arent so much. The breakfast staff are amazing but the breakfast selection was surprisingly not so great. The breakfast just isnt at the level of the hotel. Its just really generic bland breakfast items. The coffee is terrible! Our room was nice but had bad tiling in the bathroom that was loose and water could be heard squishing about as we walked on it. Overall, it was fine.

Poor 2.0
First of all I booked this hotel because of the swiming pool. And it does not have one. The photos are from a jacuzzi. And the manager told me thst I will not need a swiming pool in Florence. Is very old. The bed was poor. The chair was about to broke. No soap. And the shower was terrible the water was all over the floor. The carpets dirty. And breakfast very poor. It is so expensive and not worth a penny...
