If you are attending an event at the convention center, this is the perfect place to be. The staff is also very helpful.

The staff are wondedul and efficient. They responded quickly and positively to my enquiry about the nearest parking lot as my husband had a sprained ankle. They kindly reserved the best parking space for us. We appreciated this very very much!! Thank you! As we stayed only one night and checked in quite late, we went to have the only opened restaurant at the hotel which served Chinese food. Though there were few food choice, the food is of good quality with good service. We were lucky to see fireworks though the windows closely that night while having dinner. What a surprise!!

The room I had was very clean and had a beautiful view from the 25th floor. The service at the Hotel Nikko Niigata was excellent – as was the buffet breakfast. I found the bed to be extremely hard – and uncomfortable from what I’m used to in North America and Australia – but hard beds seem to be common in Japan [in South Korea they tend to be even harder] and when I mentioned this to the front desk they tried to remedy the situation. The hotel is not really walking distance from the JR Station Niigata (where the Shinkansen from Tokyo arrives) but the cab fare in only $7.00-8.00 or one can take a bus at the bus station just outside the JR Station [the bus for Toki Messa where the Nikko Hotel is located currently leaves from location 3]. Overall, I’d enthusiastically recommend this hotel.

The staffs went all out to assist me. For example, a female staffer on the lobby floor gave very detailed instructions how to get to the real authentic local sushi restaurant that the other staff recommended.
