Hotel Excelsior

This hotel is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. Everything about it was incredible. Most noticeably, staff were incredibly attentive and really made this hotel an amazing experience. Firstly the views from this hotel are absolutely incredible. Whether from the breakfast area, the lobby, or the pool area, the view of the Adriatic Sea and Dubrovnik are unreal. The pool area is amazing, having a private swimming area directly in the Adriatic. Great lounge area with chairs and umbrellas. Location is a perfect distance from town and the car parking service made travel here stress free. Internet worked perfectly. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable with great blackout curtains. We very much appreciated the upgrade from Expedia Gold VIP! The turndown service was also a nice surprise. The gym here was on par with other European gyms - could definitely use some more air conditioning though! Breakfast was really fantastic, really high quality food with both buffet and a la carte options. Staff were so attentive and very friendly. We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be returning!!

Amazing hotel highly recommend and Location is right on the water you can easily walk into town

Amazing location and sweeping views of Dubrovnik, fabulous facilities, easy walking distance to all major sites, shops and restaurants. Spacious,tasteful and clean rooms. Sadly our floor suffered from unfortunate odour due to damp after flooding rain.

I had extremely high expectations for this hotel, the website looked amazing & for $800 a night I was expecting very high end. We stayed in a Villa Odak suite with a patio looking over the ocean, unfortunately on 3 of the 5 nights we had weddings which was extremely noisy & resulted in trolley carts being wheeled in front of our room constantly. Check in was also disappointing, we were not shown into our room (which was like a dark dungeon with all the curtains closed), we were not warned that when you shut the patio doors you actually get locked out & we were told to get to breakfast we had to go up & then down again. It took us ages to figure this out & despite returning to reception saying I was confused as to how to get there no one showed me where to go. Other issues were no iron or ironing board could be provided, cigarette butts were left on our patio the entire time, tea & coffee was never replenished, tap fittings were all loose & about 20% of indoor pool tiles were missing which not only looked ugly but were very sharp. On a positive, the staff in the bar area & fine dining restaurant were wonderful. Food was also fabulous & the fine dining was very reasonably priced. Location is second to none, just a 6 minute stroll into the old town & being able to dive straight into the Adriatic Sea was fantastic, the views from this hotel are to die for. Frustrating that with a few relatively minor changes this Hotel could have been wonderful.

Exceptional. The rooms were spotless. The location is not even five minutes away from the old town. But most importantly, the staff there is very courteous, helpful and professional- all the way from the concierge, the restaurants to housekeeping.

This is the nicest hotel I have stayed at. Spot clean, extremely polite staff and right in front of the beach with old town only steps away!!

Location re views, and own terrace to swim from in the sea are outstanding.. service and choice at breakfast top standard..
