Poor 2.0
No Hot Water. No Help. No Refund.
We booked this hotel for our last two nights in Miami because we wanted to get to the airport quickly. Right after checking in, we found out that there is no hot water. We called the front desk and were told to let the water run for 10 minutes. We did, but still no hot water. We bugged them again and this time, a staff came up to our room, tested the water (realized it is cold), yet alluded to us that this water is fine. Are you kidding me? We did not pay $172/ night for a cold shower and we have our toddler daughter with us. Anyway, the morning after, we were told the heating system was major damaged and there was no way for them to fix it within a day. At that point, we wanted to ask for our refund back, but they kept saying the manager was not around. What kind of management does not show up when your hotel does not have hot water for multiple rooms? They did not want to give us a refund, offered us $50 coupon. NO, thank you. Our last days in Miami were ruined, thank to this horrible hotel. We managed to book another hotel close by. They still did not want to give us a refund. We had to call Expedia to resolve the problem. We got $150 coupon as comp from Expedia. The hotel offered no solution for their customers, no apology from management, no refund. We have never ever experienced anything like this with booking hotel before.

Nice property. They said my room had 2 queen sized beds but the beds were full sized. There seemed to be a washing machine above me as I was on the 2nd floor and seemed to be going ar 3am every early morning waking me as it rumbled through the spin cycle. Rooms very spacious as I had a one bedroom suite with tv in living room and bedroom, very spacious bathroom, utensils, cookware and dinnerware all available. Breakfast was free which is always right, wished they did more than scrambled eggs everyday especially using the liquid eggs and not real eggs but options included potatoes, a meat, bread, waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs and coffee, tea and various juices or milk.

Horrible - do not stay there.
The hotel is not well maintained. Extremely disappointed for a hyatt. I stayed here with my family. 1. There was an orange construction cone right near the entrance to the check in that I guess no one bothered to clear 2. There was one person checking in at 8 pm and she was more concerned about answering the phone than about checking us in - I had booked a 2 bedroom suite and so was checking in with 2 seniors and 2 children, one being an infant and we were all waiting after a 3 1/2 hour drive from key west. 3. When I went to the room and picked up the phone to order food, none of the phones worked. So, I called the hotel lobby from my cell phone and the line did not go through. Then I went to the lobby to tell them to fix. The gentleman at the reception said - oh yes there is maintenance of phone going on, they need to fix something so the phones will not work. I was just appalled that the lady who checked me in mentioned nothing about the phones not working and was also wondering what they would do in case of any emergency at the hotel - knock on every room's door??? 4. The thermostat in our room probably had low battery and so it was not detecting the temperature properly. So it was either getting freezing cold, or extremely hot. I had to wake up every 2 hours to set the temperature. 5. There was a foul smell coming out of the bathrooms. I had to let the water run for a long time. 6. Next morning, they had a lot of people cutting down the coconuts

Great stay! Just one problem.....
This hotel has potential to be amazing!! Lots of nice features and comforts....pool, comfy beds, spacious rooms. Hotel room is clean and quiet. It exceeded my expectations. Staff was very nice (especially at check-in). My only complaint was in regards to the breakfast. The first day there were only two people working the breakfast, one of which was cooking. So, the eating area was a COMPLETE mess. Nowhere to sit because dishes were not cleared and tables were very messy. The second day there was one more person working, but the place was still a mess. So, we just brought the food back to our room. The management should have more people staffed to work the breakfast hours. The employees were trying the best they could. They just couldn’t keep up with it. They did remain very friendly during the chaos though. The food was pretty good for a hotel breakfast. I would stay here again. Good location and friendly staff.

Great property and experience in every way except that the dining experience in the evening needs improvement. One poor guy manning the bar and dining area, doing a great job but clearly overwhelmed. Food took forever, but was delicious once we got it. Great place, but maybe more staff needed?
