Carlton Palace Hotel

Let me start with saying, I make regular trips to Dubai and around the world, I’m normally not a person to leave reviews, but this hotel deffinatley deserved it. What can I say, I came over from UK for a 7 day stayc great hotel it looked even better then in the pictures, the customer service was beyond outstanding I was amazed at how well the staff spoke english, a parcticular member of staff (Adam) who would often greet me upon entering and leaving the hotel was a young lad to remmeber. Helped me with all my needs, questions and was a very friendly person to speak to, deffinatley felt the customer service provided was more on a personal level rather then a standard level of service you receie from most hotels. The lobby was amazing, from the comfort of the sofas to the chairs in the business room, Amazing statues and art aswell. It was really alot more then expected from the pictures. The room was bigger then expected which was great an amazing pool and jacuzzi steam room and sauna. My bathroom was huge and very clean which was one thing i was mainly looking for as I am very hygeinic. The house keeping did a great job of maintainging that. I would highly recommend this hotel, great food, great service everything was honestly perfect. first room we were in it smelt of damp informed the reception the following day as the discount was not on for food and drink nothing done emailed after informing reception. I had a phone call on the Monday asking how our stay was I said really disappointing was moved this day to a junior suite smell much better but that night music from private parties kept us awake until 3am and the following night we went to another hotel on the Wednesday in Oman came back Thursday pm same with loud music wedding on till 3am again so really not happy with the stay as lost most of the day due to not sleeping until about 4am ruined our holiday as did not get to do half of what we wanted said shops there but one chocholate shop which was only open a couple of times with hardly anything there... I have to say from start this has been the worse experience and have visited Dubai several times over the last 3 years.

Really bad experience Had to change rooms 3 times! The first a handicapped room! Then on the 4th floor and had so much noise until 4 am (club in M level) that could not sleep at all, finally another room Always had to ask for towels: only two towels for two people!!!! Really overused linen with holes, extremely poor quality towels (over used and old), poor food quality For breakfast they asked to sign a blank bill!!! Then charged about 50 dollars a day for really poor quality items when I had only a cup of coffee and a bowl of cereal!! Lunch buffet was so low quality that we had to leave to another place to eat on our second day. This is not a 5 star hotel and I wonder how they have this ratings! I had serious problems with over two hours of arguing to be able to change my reservation to get the heck out of there and go to a real 5 star hotel. Even though I informed them 3 times about my decision to check out early and even had this cleared with Expedia - still had to waste time to finalize it. This was a very disappointing experience

My sister and I enjoyed the stay tremendously. The staff is so helpful and friendly! They remember your name and what you have for breakfast. They changed our room into better one to accommodate for our needs. The pool water was sparkling clean, the Caesar salad at the roof cafe was to die for. The hotel, despite of its size, gives a homey feeling. The area is surrounded by buildings, but a local supermarket, apothecary and shopping mall is very near. It is also close to the water and Gold Souk only 15-20 mins walk. The only minus was cleanliness of the gym and it’s equipment. Very well equipped, but the floor and everything we touched there felt a bit sticky. That is too bad since the rest of the hotel was very clean and the room was spotless...It is 10 mins from the airport by taxi- don’t pay more than 20 UEH! We will definitely come back at the next trip to Dubai. Simply loved it!

The Lobby, Staff, Restaurant and service was very good, the bed was a little hard and pillows could be better. However, any problem was address immediately, our first night they have to change our shower head because it was leaking onto the floor, problem was resolve immediately. The service response was excellent for any problems, Breakfast buffet was always clean and assortment of food for anyone diet. Conceige service could be a little more helpful with additional information but they were good not excellent. Wire Fi was great in hotel area but had a few problem in the room but they came to fix the problem with a smile which was truly wonderful and helpful. In all I would recommend this hotel the location to train station was great it a little dated but clean and comfortable.
