Great stay!
Was brilliant. Service, personnel and room was amazing.
In this dining room have sat Benjamin Franklin, Dr Samuel Johnson and James Boswell, Sir Winston Churchill, and the Queen Mother. The painted panels are those from mid-18th century.
In the beautiful yellow drawing room opposite the dining room, the Queen Mother used to sit in the chair below the mirror to have a champaign, as her helicopter could land in the grounds.

A Real 5 Star Hotel
Totally amazing hotel, the staff especially Jennie on reception was so very nice and very helpful. The whole experience and ambience of this truly 5 Star Hotel in Edinburgh was first class in every way. We have stayed in hotels all over the world, and I would say The Prestonfield, is on par with the luxury Hotels in Dubai. It's the best hotel we have stayed in the UK. Nothing was too much trouble for ANY of the staff. Still smiling at their warmth and friendliness, they truly make you feel at home. Could not fault anything. Thank you Mr Thomson for sharing your lovely creation with us. If you do go, Jennie and the one of the managers, (whose name I forget - sorry), will give you a lovely history lesson of how the Hotel emerged into what it is today. 5 Stars all the way !! Thank you, and we will be back !!

Beyond amazing - smitten
This was one of the best places I have ever stayed. Luxurious, comfortable, and opulent. The staff were so attentive and lovely. I wanted to spend all my time at the hotel. I will most likely visit again. The attention to all the details sets the bar high for every other boutique hotel. Oh and the history. Swoon and smitten!
