Very good 8.0
Lovely hotel approx 10 min drive from centre
Four night stay in lovely hotel during exceptional weather (excessive heat) We had 'superior' room which I think means basic. Scrupulously clean but lacking in some amenities such as full length mirror and dressing table etc. Ladies note hairdryer is one of those with button that has to be depressed all time you use it. There may be better dryers in better rooms? Spa area and outdoor pool lovely but usual issue in hot weather especially with some guests having more than one bed (sun and shade) when there are already a limited number of beds available. We were surprised by the number of childten at the hotel but in mthere is no proactive pool drinks service which is quite a surprise- you can get drinks bought to pool but you have to find someone to ask first or grab the waiter as he delivers some. Collecting empties and water bottles from guests who have long since left pool are is rather poor. Service on reception is faultless. Service in restaurant is very hit and miss. Food at all meals was excellent. There is a free shuttle bus to centre (quite a long walk in 40 degrees) which during normal weather is probably very pleasant. It is a very limited timescale so check timings in advance if you need it. Taxi from train station to hotel cost €24 Euro and in and out of centre depended very much on traffic. Cheapest single journey we had was 12 euros but average was 18 - so £30 return daily if you need to cab it Such a beautiful City and I will return but not in August

Not quite a 5 star hotel, room for improvement!
Stayed here as wanted to try the Spa and supposedly had good views of the River Arno. Check in was business-like and not overly friendly. Valet parking wasn't that helpful - didn't take out all of our luggage. Hotel itself is nicely decorated, but room was small and facing into the courtyard and busy main road so be prepared for noise from passing traffic. I'm sure the river view rooms were nicer but there is a huge amount of graffiti on the wall on the opposite river bank which spoils things. Bathroom was nice with excellent toiletries from the SN Farmacia. No storage space in the bedroom so limited in places to hang up/ store clothing - seems odd as there is space for drawers etc. Ate in the restaurant for dinner - service a little cold and bored, food passable. Good wine list. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and fresh items. Can sit outside. Swimming pool area was lovely. The main drawback of this hotel is the distance from the town centre. It is a 30 minute walk along a busy road with multiple junctions which slows things down. There is a shuttle bus which picks up and drops off 4 times in the AM and 4 times in the PM, the last shuttle into town leaves at 18:45 which is ok. Taxi back from town to hotel is around 10 euros. The Spa is quite nice altho not much room to sit and relax at all compared to other hotels. Overall it's not quite 5 star in my opinion, but not bad at all. Bring your walking shoes!

What a gem! Love this place!
This place is an absolute GEM! When my husband and I were planning our trip to Florence, he chose this hotel and we absolutely loved it! The location is just on the outside of the city, which was great for us since we love to walk everywhere and it took us about 15 minutes or so to walk to the city center. It's just on the river (as its name suggests) and has a beautiful patio/garden space in its backyard. Upon our arrival, the staff were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to give us a very comprehensive tour of the hotel and its amenities. My favorite part of this hotel was the spa. OH MY GOODNESS! After my husband's family had a sudden change in travel plans, they joined us at this hotel and had a chance to enjoy the spa with us. From the heated bench to the indoor pool (perfect temperature, awesome lighting, relaxing space) to the sauna and steam rooms to the funky shower that sprays you with was the most incredible spa I've experienced at any hotel! There was always access to complimentary refreshments and snacks, which made this place feel like home. My husband and I want to plan a trip with my mom to Florence for her 60th birthday next year JUST so we can stay at this hotel again!

Good 6.0
Very nice hotel, staff needs improvement
Requested taxi pickup for next morning at 5am to airport when we checked in. No taxi was ordered; next morning the night clerk was very slow ("no taxis") in finally calling and requesting a taxi so we arrived late, but did catch the plane. We were very worried and upset by this mistake. Bar service was poor. I had to ask for a drink, and had to ask for snacks (serving was meager: 3 olives and 5 one inch bread treats). Food on a service table in bar area was in full view, and since no one was regularly staffing the bar, after a while I helped myself to a small plate, ate it, only to be later severely criticized by the visibly angry bartender telling me that it was for someone else. I was very embarrassed since it is typical for bars at evening cocktail time to have food servings. We had a premium suite (free upgrade) which was nice, but for such a high price, we were surprised and disappointed by the poor service.

Beautiful :-)
Spent 4 nights here on a spur of the moment getaway, and booked the executive river view room. After the first night , I'd asked if there were any other rooms available as this particular room feels 'detached' from the rest of the hotel (which is stunning) , rather like part of an extension to the building and didn't quite have the same charm or luxury feel. I was delighted to be moved to another room in the main building with no question at all and loved it :-) The staff couldn't do enough to make my stay the best possible experience , free shuttle into town (and pick up too!) but also just a ten minute walk along the river brings you right in to the centre. Bed's were fantastic, breakfast is a little pricey I felt , but overall a wonderful stay.
