Conclusion: Great hotel with a perfect location, beautiful rooms, great service. I got to the hotel 2 hours early and was greeted with a semi-rude employee. Unfortunately I had my credit card stolen before I went on my trip and was unable to present a credit card for reservation purposes although I had all other paperwork. With reluctance, the employee found a solution to the problem. After, the whole experience went swimmingly. I was pleased to find out I was the Guest of the Day which meant that I got upgraded to their Deluxe Room or the Urban I believe and had a delicious chocolate bar waiting for me in the room. Room: It was beautiful. White, grey with wood and marble accents. Pillows are soft and the bed is firm. Amenities were plenty. Nespresso coffee machine with a small selection of complimentary pods. They even had a smartphone that you could bring with you during your trip and had date and service to explore the city with but I did not use it. A little warning, there are nightlights that I was unable to turn off. I wasn't bothered by it but some may be. I also did not ask how to turn them off either (I tried all the switched haha). Location: Perfect. Not too touristy, close to the metro. A lot of food around! I walked my whole time there except going to the Arc de Triomphe but you can totally walk there. Service: A shoutout to Gregory. Very friendly and accommodated my needs perfectly. Amazing employee! Coming back for sure!

Exceptional 10.0
Thank you to staff for making our 3 nights stay great. Location is amazing, train station and restaurants are at walking at the hotel is very good too!! We felt at home right from first day. Everyone was very helpful and kind. We are definitely staying back here whenever we visit next :) The manager even took extra efforts to get us a tennis court booking at one of the prestigious tennis club!! That was simply cherry on top!! Thank you again!!

Centrally Located, Fully-Renovated Small Hotel
I stayed at Villa Lafayette for 3 nights in early June. The hotel is located close to the metro and within walking distance of major sights, if you like to walk. My room was fully renovated, with a large, comfortable bed, clean laminate floor and a lovely marble bath. It was called a Deluxe Double Room, but the storage space was totally inadequate. There was a tiny wardrobe and nothing else - no dresser, not even a night table. I was traveling light and still had to keep half of my clothes in my suitcase. And the room was supposed to accommodate two persons. While the room looked very nice and was spacious, the design had issues. The toilet was on the opposite end of the room from the shower and sink. Odd. You had to walk across the room every time to wash your hands. There was a small desk with a fridge underneath and a Nespresso machine on top. The other half of the desk was done as a makeup vanity with a mirror. I thought it was a nice touch, until I sat down in front of the mirror and discovered I was looking at my belly instead of my face. The height of it was right for a small child, not an adult, so there was no way to do your makeup or blow dry your hair. The room did have a smart phone that I was free to take with me and use. I found it worked great for making phone calls, including calling back to the U.S., but as a smart phone its functionality was rather limited.

Very good 8.0
The Lafayette is a small boutique hotel. The staff is very accommodating and hospitable. We had a room with a king and twin sized beds situated in two rooms. The space was adequate, and very clean. The breakfast buffet included scrambled eggs, bacon, and an assortment of breads etc. The hotel is not really centrally located near any of the main attractions. However, it is within walking distance to many eateries and local shops.

check the room is actually available!
The stars/smiley faces for this are a little irrelevant as I didn't actually get to stay there. I had carefully picked the hotel because of its reviews but on arrival I was informed there was a problem with my room and without any discussion I was shipped off to its sister hotel, supposedly with an upgrade. The hotel and room were not as nice and in quite a dodgy area of the city for just myself and my son. I would have much rather they had contacted me beforehand and explained the situation but found myself heading to somewhere I wouldn't have considered based on the reviews on this website. I would not have paid what I paid for their alternative. I have also just received an email from villa lafayette thanking me for my stay and asking me to complete a survey, which suggests they do not aim for a personal customer experience. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to my stay at the hotel and in Paris, but this experience put a cloud on the whole weekend really. But hopefully this was a one off and the reviews of those who actually got to stay in the hotel can help you make your decision!
