Clayton Plaza has always been my place to stay the last four years my son was in college at WashU. It is close to the campus. You can walk to a few restaurants nearby. The staff are always nice and rooms are perfect for a short stay. I would definitely recommend

We stayed in the jacuzzi suite. The tub was a little shabby but worked well. Some of the lights didn't work in the room. Great that parking was free through most of our trip. It was a great price for what we got. The room could use a little updating but compared to the other hotels in the area it was great for the money. The pool and hot tub were closed for renovations and I wasn't notified until the day before our trip. Overall good experience, great area. We'd stay there again.

After all it is a classic hotel that has not been updated in a long time. The pool has not been fix and you don't know about it until you get there. There are a few things that are helping the hotel. One, the location is great. It's located in great neighborhood. Two, the full sit down dinning experience for breakfast witch everyone seeing to like. Lastly the shower in the room is by far one of my best shower experiences at a hotel. The staff attitude needs to improve, everyone seeing miserable or not really like their job. This is a common thing around St Louis so maybe that's just their culture there.
