Perfect Location!
So many good things to say about this hotel and Vancouver. The Opus is two blocks from the marina where you can take the Aquabus to Granville Island or other parts of Vancouver. There is also a bike and pedestrian trail that you can pick up at the marina and follows the seawall. The hotel has leisure bikes to use for free for 3 hours that include baskets, helmets, water bottles, and locks. We took them on an 11 mile ride going from the marina on the seawall trail and then circling Stanley Park and back. Just wonderful. The trail is actually two trails, one for bikes and one for pedestrians. The hotel is close to many fantastic restaurants and within walking distance to the shopping district and historic district. Or, you can catch the skytrain which is across the street. Our room was great, the tub extra long, and at night the maid would come in and put some nice music on the in-room iPad, turn down our bed (leaving a little snack on it), fill our ice bucket, and leave a carafe of water. Such service! You pretty much have to use the valet parking as the longest you can park on the street is 3 hours. We didn't use our car once in the two nights we stayed but we needed something out of the car and they brought it up to our room for us! The bar has a nice happy hour and the continental breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and filling. Our stay at the Opus has made us fall in love with Vancouver, we can't wait to go back!

Fair 4.0
Fantastic hotel in an ideal location. Impeccably well mannered staff. Lively lounge and comfortable amenities. Double beds really need to be upgraded to Queens. It's implausible to market these rooms as 1-4 people, as they are simply too small. I've stayed at Opus in King rooms and the large suites probably 10-12 tirnes... but feel ripped-off... frankly by my last stay, with 3 of us grabbing a place to stay after a function.

Exceptional Hotel Experience
This was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The Opus is located across the street from the Yaletown/Roundhouse Skytrain station, making it affordable & easy to access from the airport. The desk staff was exceptional when I checked in and went out of their way to welcome me warmly, even though I arrived much earlier than anticipated. The housekeeping staff was sweet too. My standard room was modern and clean. I especially loved the Malin + Goetz products in the bathroom--a really thoughtful amenity. Even the water pressure in the shower and the hair dryer were surprisingly powerful-- both small things, of course, but unexpectedly nice touches. Trendy shops, restaurants and cafes were fun to explore nearby, and there were a few good grocery stores within a block or two for snacks and water (Urban Fare & the Choices Market). Both the Skytrain and #6 Davies St. bus made the rest of the city easy to access via public transit. My experience of public transit in Vancouver is that it is almost always timely, clean and efficient, plus the elevators & escalators actually work on a consistent basis (all rarities in my own hometown). For fellow runners, the Seawall is 2 blocks away and beautiful views await you whether you choose to run north or south. I loved that there were separate paths for the pedestrians & runners vs. cyclists so you don't constantly feel in danger of being mowed down. Thanks to both Vancouver & the Opus for a great stay--I can't wait to visit again!

Very good 8.0
There are many positives of this hotel but...
I stayed at this hotel when it first opened 15 years ago and had very fond memories. It was overall a good hotel. The staff is excellent. The location is great. They have lots of nice bonuses such as the car service, the excellent continental breakfast, welcome glass of bubbly and nice gym. My biggest complaint was with room cleanliness. The room we checked in to had half eaten food in the fridge and half consumed bottles of soda and water in the minibar. The miss on the half drunk bottles of things would have been acceptable, I guess, but harder to dismiss the plastic bags of odd seafood products that someone left for us. The room was, in general, a bit worn. The decade + since the hotel opened shows. Overall for a hotel at this price point I think I might look at other options.

Great location, lovely staff
I only had a couple of days in Vancouver in transit on the way home from meetings in Ottawa. I chose Opus because of reviews I had read. I'm pleased that I did. It was very easy to get to Opus from the airport using the Skytrain - easy system to navigate and the Yaletown station is literally across the road from Opus. Checking in was a bit difficult because of the volume of noise from the adjacent bar, but we got there pretty easily. The complimentary glass of bubbles on check in was a lovely touch. The room was lovely; it had everything you need. Bed was very comfortable and the turn down service was also appreciated. Good to see WiFi included (in this day and age, it's a must). Concierge staff were helpful and were able to provide some good pointers. Reception staff were also very friendly. Would definitely recommend, and will stay here again if I am back in Vancouver.
