This property has it charms but also please make a note of a few things. The positive are their staff. Very friendly and helpful. Everybody is smiling and making sure the guest are taken care of. Special note to Gerry, in concierge and Louis in maintenance. Well done. The property and the suites have all the amenities we are use to at the big Westgate resort in Florida which we have stayed over a dozen times. Pool, BBQ's free shuttle to strip to name a few. The suites were finished but still limited in pots and pans. Seems to be a theme as a whole thru out Westgate. This is the third suite we have rented that did not have a frying pan. To me this is more important then a giant pot to boil spaghetti. The housekeeping was lacking in a few areas. First it was not consistent. We were told light housekeeping every day. Left a tip everyday, but in 9 days, they showed up 4 days. One stretch we were out of toilet paper and towels. Good thing the pool had tons of fresh clean towels which we borrowed until the next day. Even call one morning to ensure cleaning was done, and we were out the whole day at Grand Canyon from 7 to 6 pm only to come back to no housekeeping. Oh well. Second, the fine detail to cleaning. Corners of showers, countertops, etc, where not as pristine as it should be to other resort of this calibre. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would be back.

Paid for something I didn't get
I paid just over $200 for one night in this disappointing hotel. When I got to check in, the receptionist told me that they had sold out of the room I had booked months ago (a deluxe single villa). She let me know that they had upgraded me for free so I was happy with that. We got to our villa & it turned out they actually downgraded us with no compensation. We had been given the regular single villa. I was frustrated with this, as the staff lied to my face. It was dirty too, hair in the tub and splatter marks on the couch. The tub barely trickled water - it took forever to fill it and it was impossible to use the showerhead on it. In the morning, I attempted to call room service to have breakfast delivered. On the menu, it said they would be open at 7AM that day. I tried calling several times and after 8AM and got an answer - they told me that the kitchen didn't open until 10 AM! The next day at check out, I told the guy that I had paid for a deluxe but was given a regular villa. He asked if I wanted to talk to the manager and I said yes. She couldn't talk because she was on the phone at the time but I was promised I'd get a call ASAP. I ended up stopping in again hours later because no call yet. She wasn't in again but eventually called later. She was very rude on the phone (claiming a man checked me in and not a woman - why would she even argue with me on that?) & ended up saying she'd compensate me the $20 resort fee. Lo and behold, I was STILL charged $7 of that fee.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful, they made check in quick and easy but, we won't be staying here again. The property is aging and, although they have the capacity to have numerous amenities, many were in poor shape or not available. There was an issue with the pool that caused it to open late, the fitness center had not A/C on one of the days that we were there (in July's 110+ degree heat), the activities center is a room that has been repurposed and was not inviting, the playground did not have a slide, swings, etc. and is really a small, clubhouse off of the ground. We reserved a deluxe room but, it was plain and out dated, and seemed very mundane (pictures matched the regular room). We were very excited about the basketball court but, it is located in the back corner of the parking lot, directly in the sun.

We stayed at the Westgate for 4 nights. Overall, I believe it was worth it - with that said, I am not sure if I would return there again. The sofa bed was SO uncomfortable - we had to ask for an additional matress to put over it. They didn't have one so we ended up taking the matress off of the pull out bed and made it work. The place definately needs a makeover. The lady at the Concierge office was amazing and helpful. Her customer service skills are outstanding and we could tell that she enjoys helping guests and making sure they enjoy themselves while in Vegas. The general staff looked very inconvenienced when we asked for extra simples things, such as: towels and shampoo. We also liked that the property was gated and off of the strip so it wasn't so busy and loud.

Unclean but serene.
The Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort is very beautiful and serene. Our room was unfortunately very dirty, Urine drips were on the seat and there was someone elses old dirty underwear in the drawers. The hair dryer had shavings all over it and in the bag. Floors are filthy, make sure to wear shoes if you dont want dirty feet. Also, make sure you wash your dishes before use as well. Every single one we grabbed had food residue. The staff seemed very passive with our concerns. I would have been more adamant about the service but we simply did not have time for such issues. Overall, the cleanliness was our only major issue. We enjoyed our stay and hopefully if there's a next time it will be a better experience.
