8/10 Very good

Although the hotel could benefit from updating and few refinements the bedroom and bathroom were of a clean standard, the beds were comfortable the staff were friendly courteous and helpful the English breakfast was amazing freshly cooked to order it was hot and well presented with plenty of variety on the buffet breakfast to choose from. Free parking was an added bonus, first impressions weren’t good but don’t judge a book by its cover and the price we paid was excellent value. It was central to where we were visiting, would we re visit ? Probably

6/10 Good

The room/hotel was absolutely worth the £50, it was completely adequate. However, it is in dire need of refurbishment or complete refit. It was cheaper than a travelodge, and more amenities. I thinking in its day, it was a very nice hotel. The included breakfast was very good, and plenty of it. If you’re not bothered about appearance, then this is a great cheap hotel. Not for “snobs” but well worth the money. Mattress was very worn, but for 1 day I survived. Overall it was value for money.

Don't let the exterior fool you. When first arrive the exterior looks univiting and a bit run down but the room was great, spacious and clean. We didn't check in until after 11pm. The reception staff were great. We didn't eat there so can't comment on food. No problem with parking space and free to park. Would definitely stay there again.

Sadly this is a very old establishment and the decor reflects this. Thought I was back in the 80's. The beds were well used and sagged although the linen was fresh and clean. Good parking and staff pleasant.

You get what you pay for Positives - bed was good and the head board and decor behind it Otherwise the hotel is very tired and need refurbishing The bathroom was old - silicone sealing around bath was smeared on looking ameteurish rather than done by a proffessional Shower head was hanging down and could not be locked in position needed to shower Shower temperature was impossible to set with the separate hot and cold taps- either it was scolding hot or on cold - weirdly when you turned the hot tap off the cold flowed with hot water for a minute before going cold - something just wasnt right Dont think I would stay here again even though the price suited my reasons to stay - I would pay more elsewhere so as to avoid these issues

2/10 Poor

I would not stop at this Hotel again I would think that probably half the Hotel was not being used, when we arrived the Hotel looked quite deserted there was a bell on what should have been the entrance, I used this bell to try and gain entry but no one answered until some one was walking past and they told me that the reception had been moved from the front of the building to the side I eventually found what is now the entrance and meeting what staff were on duty were very nice but that was one of the good points as well as our room had a clean bed and the tea and coffee in our room was ok but the bathroom had had some work done to it but it had never been done by a trades person there was silicone everywhere except where it should have been all the tiles had been smothered by the silicone there was no bath or washbasin plugs, the shower riser rail had a broken fitting and the only way to take a shower was to manually hold the shower head, (I forgot to mention the bathroom towels were clean) other areas of the hotel had a downstairs Restaurant and Bar but they were not open so all in all I won't be using this excuse for a Hotel again. We were looking for a hotel in the area and this one was significantly cheaper than other hotels in the area. Our room was clean and had coffee and tea available the only downside was in the bathroom where the shower slider was loose making it difficult to shower.

Our room was spacious, warm, and had a sofa. Decor is a bit tired around the hotel, but everywhere was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast cooked to order. Overall an enjoyable stay.
