Disappointing lack of cleanliness
We chose the Rosedale due to the location, and that they had interconnecting rooms and slightly out of the way so would be a little quieter. I knew there would be an issue the moment we arrived. The doorman couldn't even be bothered to open the door for us. but then immediately behind us some other guests and he left for the door. Checking was ok, the reception staff were nice and attentive. When we arrived on the floor it seemed ok, then we opened the door to our room. It was small which is fine, but the damp smell was quite overpowering. Both the connecting rooms has the same issue. They were so dirty, un vacuumed, and the bathrooms were so bad we dare not step in them. We complained and were moved to a connecting suite. It was much better in cleanliness however the bathrooms were still substandard in cleanliness. Heavy mould etc covered the bath and the shower curtains were breeding something. We had breakfast the next morning, argh, and decided the next day before we could check out to eat outside the hotel! We checked out as three days early (at our cost) and went to another hotel. The Manager at the time was very accommodating and i appreciate his help but we were not prepared to have our kids stay in a hotel in this condition. Very disapointing.

Not a 4 star hotel but good for the money
I had previously stayed at their other location in Kowloon; this room was a lot bigger. The staff was friendly but the room was a little disappointing. I stayed for 2 weeks, first few days, the entire floor (8th) had a chemical smell of some sort. The room appeared to be a handicap accessible room. The shower curtians had mold all along the lower edges. The bathroom was generally clean except for that. There were a few broken items: garbage can (flip lid was broken) & soap dispenser. Just nit-picking because they tout themselves higher. I also happened to drop something under the bed and saw it was completely filled with piles of dust and other food items. The housekeeping staff was great and very nice, I think they do their jobs but the housekeeping manager probably isn't checking anything.

A neat hotel that is tugged away in Causeway Bay
The hotel is close to Causeway Bay with easy access to the shops and eateries on foot. It is tucked away in a one-way side street and the taxi needs to do a big loop around the block to get to the front of the hotel. The room type (deluxe) we booked was not available so we got upgraded to an ensuite which was nice. The size of the enuite is similar to the standard room I have stayed in other hotels, enough room to spread out when you have a lot of luggage. The room smells a little musty, however the water pressure in the bathroom was great and the air con was strong which is fantastic for humid hot days. I would probably come back again if I am travelling alone and with small amount of luggage.

An average hotel in a good location
The hotel fitments are showing their age. Both the small bath and the bathroom sink drained very slowly due to debris not being cleaned from the plugholes. The curtains were stained from heavy condensation on the inside of the windows and on some mornings there were pools of water at the bottom of the windows. From time to time the smell of cigarette smoke drifted into the room and as result the bathroom exhaust fan had to be run to keep the room ventilated. The bath was small and the shower head was mounted at a very low level. However the room was clean and the bed linen changed regularly. The TV channels were an international mix and the WiFi had a good download speed. Our room was on the 32nd floor and the view out of the window was over Victoria Park and Tai Hang. The 3 lifts serve all floors so sometimes they were very busy. They and were serviced weekly one at a time so they often really slow at this time. The hotel is near the many varied Restaurants and Bars along Tung Lo Wan Road a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel service is good. If the room is cleaner and the room is bigger, it would be comfortable. The windows in hotel are not allowed to open, there was no fresh air in the room. The room carpet is dirty and the towel supply was irregular. Telephone is dusty and smelly.. Breakfast area was unpleasant and warm. It was like a canteen more than a restaurant atmosphere. Coffee makers and stove were rusty and dirty.
