Listen. If you're looking for a budget hotel (that you don't intend to spend much time at) then Holiday Inn Resort in Acapulco is your place. It got the job done, the staff responded to our general needs and the beach literally just steps away. Is it a luxury hotel? No, there are lots of families and kids running around, and the food is mediocre at best. My balcony door was stuck/jammed, and the hotel doesn't allow outside food or drinks into the facility. The pool view of the entire strip is gorgeous though, and that alone makes up for the other flaws. I spent most of my time at the pool or out in the city, so the lack of amenities didn't bother me much. If you're traveling on a budget, or have children, this is a good option. The establishment is also wheelchair accessible, which is a big plus!

What a hole. Old, dirty, gross. Hot water was sparse, bed uncomfortable, and drinks were weak.

The staff was super nice and helpful. The staff at the reception can speak english and when we had trouble booking our travel plans because we couldn't speak spanish, they stepped in and helped us out! Definitely recommend this hotel!!!

Pleasant place for an unexpected overnight
The "resort" is good value for the dollar (or peso). It's clean and comfortable, but simple - not a luxury resort. This was perfect for my unexpected overnight stay in Acapulco. The people who work there were extremely friendly and helpful. My waiter in the restaurant made sure I sampled some of the better local options for my desayuno, which I might not have chosen myself. It's got a nice pool area, from which you can access a lovely beach - which was nice to take a walk on. Many families were staying there and enjoying the facilities when I visited, which was nice to see.
