Cardiff
So close to Mermaid Quay which would be a very trendy area in summer. Room was good with great view of Cardiff Bay. Thought that 20pound per night was over the top for parking as not under cover.

A really nice stay
Nice hotel with very friendly staff and comfortable, spacious room with good amenities. Some of the food was not as good as we had expected, but the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.

Not as luxurious anymore.
We have stayed at this hotel before & it did feel like a bit of luxury but it was a different experience this time. Staff were friendly, room was comfortable & clean. However the hotel has new ownership & there has been some changes, rooms (& eventually the rest of the hotel/ spa) have been upgraded which is good but as a resident you can't use the spa facilities until 5pm. There maybe a possibility to use before but it depends on how many spa bookings they have. In view of this we went to the bar for a drink, here it was extremely busy, no seats were available. We were told there was a long wait to be served at the bar unless you had a table but then to be told the tables were fully booked! Early hours of the morning on our floor there was some roudiness, people being loud, slamming doors etc. I know this is out of the hands of the hotel but it seems to have turned into a hen & stag hotel which for the price you pay you do not expect. We did book to go for NYE but have now cancelled the booking. We did speak to the duty manager who was very polite but we felt he was just saying what he felt needed to be said & not particularly interested. He also said he would e--mail me that afternoon & at the moment I am still waiting. We have been very disappointed with our recent experiences & most likely won't be returning in a hurry.
