This was my first stay at the Hotel Emporio and must admit that I chose it because my usual hotel near the Zona Rosa was full. I stayed once on Paseo de la Reforma some years ago and found it too noisy. It was not the case this trip; the hotel is situated in a quieter zone and separated from noisy traffic. It is nevertheless a convenient location with MetroBus lines 1 and 7 about one block away. As for the property, it is a beautifully maintained building with much of the original décor intact. It has been updated, of course, with nice plumbing fixtures, air conditioning, WiFi, new beds. The personnel are super with special kudos to housekeeping.

The location is great, the room was clean, and staff was courteous. That said, in my experience, hotel prices are usually the same for one or two guests. I selected one guest by accident. The staff indicated that it would be an additional $418 pesos to add a guest. Something to keep in mind when making the reservation. I would book again.
