One rude staff and I don't be back anytime soon
Well to be honest have had a lovely stay been here 5 days/nights. Tried to rebook only to be told by reception, a fella named Chris that they are at full capacity for Friday night. I even showed him about 8 rooms on this app, will gladly check out tomorrow cause if my money is not good enough for Friday night and I've done nothing wrong in my stay, then I won't ever stay with Voco again I'm a IHG member and have kept to myself 4 my whole stay, am a Carer for my father on Gold Coast, it's not easy But that's life I would have put in a total 5 star review But sasly cant now as Ive been judged by 1 staff member only. Which has really changed my opinion of this hotel. Sorry Voco only takes one Staff member to wreck a review. I copped a few bad rooms and still payed to stay, 1st night was loud due to the room second night No Air Con in my room, and I guess it was my fault that I continued to stay. All other staff I have talked too have been extremely pleasant Only takes the last one I dealt with being utterly rude to trash a review. I'm clean decent and have spoken with all I come across even the non English speaking, done my best to smile and be polite Oh well can't please them all. Not sure if he's under instruction by someone higher up than him But it's not acceptable to me 2 be judged. Unfortunately I'll never stay with VOCO again Christy Commerer is my name for review. Honest and am told I'm too kind, but I won't change cause I'm proud of myself Always Bye VOCO.. Sadtimes

Horrible front desk lady customer service.
Upon check in at the front desk. The man who attended me was ok. When I asked if they have a hotel paper bag for me to put the stuff I was holding, he gave me a plastic bag - White rubbish bag, I said this is not good. So he said he is going to give me black rubbish bag. He can’t understand the concept that I need a paper bag as the plastic bag is not environmental friendly. Then I saw this little pieces of cakes in the jar which I thought were toys so I opened the jar to inspect. I got immediately told off by the woman from the counter in a very strong reprimanding voice and she kept on going on that embarrassed me. She treated me like I was a kid. I’m 50 years old. I deserve to be respected. There’s a nice way to talk without causing embarrassment. The hotel should not even think of providing food for guests which are not individually wrapped even if your customer service people are serving with tongs. They are not wearing gloves and they don’t wear mask ( what if they got colds/cough/airborne disease?). It’s unhealthy and against food handling rules. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Extremely disappointing
It started with unfriendly welcoming on check-in, to the 'unspectacular ocean view' and ended with an extremely poor service from management when something went missing from my room. I paid for 'spectacular' ocean views, but as you can see from the photos uploaded, all you can see is a bit of ocean either side of a very large building right in front of the room. Hardly 'spectacular' as the website promises for a 'deluxe' room. That was not the worst though. A shoe bag went missing from my room. Something very simple and not important to me, but after asking at reception if they could check with the cleaners as to what happened to it, a manager called me back to tell me the cleaners did not take it. His attitude and words implied that there was no possibility for a mistake on their end, and I must have been mistaken. When I expressed that I was disappointed with this attitude and that I hadn't even received a sorry, his response was that he was not going to take responsibility for something they didn't do. So something that was not important to me at all, became a problem to me simply because it was so poorly handled by their manager. All I asked for was to see if they still had the bag, nothing else. This could have been a very simple conversation that was stress free, instead it turned me into a very unhappy person who had a very poor experience and will not return.

Nightclub at night the music is so loud
We were getting in to Gold Coast late after a long flight and and then drive from Brisbane so booked Voco as we had stayed here the previous year and was a great location with great restaurant down stairs, so we could eat as soon as we checked in and we were looking forward to our dinner. We checked in the music from the bar was blasting soooo loud the receptionist could not us nor we could hear her and had to use a pen and paper to talk. We put our bags in our room and went straight to the restaurant it was 9pm on a Saturday night they told us they were closing (even though there was plenty of people still seated) they said we could eat in the bar/lounge area. The music was so uncomfortably loud, blasting like a nightclub & we had our 2 year old!! The music was actually so loud I could not stand to be in there I couldn’t even think over it. My husband and I couldn’t even discuss our options in there so I left and went to reception lounge area but again the music was so extremely loud I couldn’t stay there either. There was literally no where to go in this hotel to escape the music besides our room. It was really disappointing to not be able to have a meal which is number one why we chose Voco, and to not be able to be in any common areas because of the loud music. I wouldn’t stay here again. They need to advertise that they run as a nightclub at night because it is extremely unsuitable for families and young children

Great location but not good for loyal customers
My family (2 adults and 1 child) stayed at Watermark in Jan 2017. At that time, we liked the location of the hotel, the free Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon TV channels and the very friendly staffs. Hence, we decided to go back and stayed at Watermark again in Dec 2017. This time around, there was no more free Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon TV channels (to the disappointment of my son). But the worst experience of all was the way the Night Manager on duty on 31st of Dec talked to me. I booked for the buffet breakfast in the morning on the 1st of Jan 2018. Breakfast closes by 10:00am. Having a young son, I thought of going back to the room after breakfast and asked the Night Manager to give me half an hour allowance for check out in the morning i.e. to check out at 10:30am instead of 10:00am. He harshly declined my request! I mentioned that I was a returning customer but he did not even value loyal customers!
