Hotel being renovated do not stay while this is occurring it has resulted in areas closed and lots of stairs up dpwn along down again up again etc to get to room. I couldnt find first one so they provided different room this had renovators above they werent allowed to use equipment after 5pm but dragged things across floor stapled things and glued until after 7pm and started around 6am had to change room again this was much better not renovated but quiet, To get to breakfast have to go outside - they have a few umbrella's but no fun when cold weather.

Gritting was evident on turning into car park, due to previous snowfall - and on pedestrian areas - Signs in car park and on entry to property were clear and concise - explaining Covid 19 precautions for self and staff - Explanation given on checking in at Reception, and offer of ringing through if we had any requests, and about breakfast arrangements - collect lunch bag and hot drink from area opposite, which we needed to eat / drink in our room or take with us on outward journey Facilities in the room were practical, and notice left that items were limited to minimum for safety precautions Agreement and grateful thanks for your kind considerations and staff were all friendly and cheerful that we dealt with

The hotel itself is nice. Our room was modern and clean, Although our toilet had been used and not flushed on arrival. The female staff member that met us was miserable and seriously needs to work on her attitude. I appreciate we are in a lockdown however it was as though we where an issue being there and we felt interrogated. Have no issues with being asked why we where staying but the manner in which she asked and her over all attitude stunk. Also We booked through hotels.com and assumed it would be a double room however was 2 single beds. We enquired about changing to a double and where more than happy to pay any difference however where rudely told no. The hotel can’t be faulted the facilities are fab for the price but if we’d had anywhere else to stay we would have left. Her attitude was just awfull.

Great, recently refitted hotel which is now part of the Holiday Inn chain. simple check in considering the COVID restrictions, and the rooms were very clean. Food menu was a little disappointing, however, as it was during lockdown 2.0, I can understand why. WiFi was decent. Checkout was equally efficient, and will be staying there in future should I need to.
