The island itself is beautiful, the plants and foliage were amazing. The location of the island is exceptional and there were five or six baby with sharks swimming 10 feet offshore throughout our stay. There is many coral reefs in the area so No need to spend extra money booking a snorkeling trip, just bring your snorkel and fins. The rooms themselves could use a little maintenance but we’re comfortable. Unfortunately the layout of the resort offers very little privacy because all of the bungalows are close together With the outdoor areas all visible to each other. My husband and I had to be careful because our ocean view bungalow was directly behind the overwater bungalows and they could look right through our balcony into our bedroom if we didn’t have the black out curtains closed all the way. Being a small boutique resort with only 33 Bungalows they could utilize the space so much better. The staff did not speak very good English which made it difficult to communicate at times. The food was mediocre with exuberant pricing and the staff was visibly unhappy when we declined not to eat at the restaurant. The boat shuttle that takes you across to the mainland was convenient and even if we showed up at a time that wasn’t scheduled they made sure we got back to the resort within a short period of time.

Natural Beauty & Tranquility
The Sofitel Private Motu is one the most beautiful and intimate places to stay on Bora Bora. This was my third time there and loved every minute! My new husband and I celebrated our honeymoon at the Sofitel and made some incredible memories thanks to the staff, the natural beauty and the ideal weather and water!

What I love hotel, Staff was great , my room was clean, and Free boat shuttle. What needs improvement , food (should e different selection of breakfast every). Nightly entertainment . Update rooms . Better selection for lunch & dinner . Activities during day ( bora bora dancing lessons ), how to make baskets , pool table. And more beach activities . I was told by Expedia I would be able to use the pool at the other Sofitel hotel and that was. Not true , the sister hotel was under construction .

Absolutely amazing experience
The island is perfectly remote and the service was to notch. The staff really makes you feel at home and you get the personal touch, unlike some of the larger chain hotels. Couldn't be happier with our stay.
