Dissapointing Stay
Booked in for 2 nights with the family, booked room with 2 double beds. Had to wait for valet parking, had to wait at reception (5 computers but 1 person) this was a Friday night at 6.30. Kids went swimming, pool / spa ok, there was no heating in the room - the whole hotel is on they same temperature, they did bring us up a little heater, but found this crazy for a 5 star hotel. There were 4 guests in our room, only 2 towels and enough toilitries for 2 people. I didnt feel that we had any special treatment at this 5 star hotel and it lacked warmth from the team. Had friends also booked in for the saturday night - upon arrival they were told that there was no room for them despite having already booked on line. They eventually found them a room after waiting 15 mins to be served at reception and then another 20min while they found them a room, they were very late for the party that we all attended. They were offered a room with one double bed and a couch, which isnt what they booked for they also had booked 2 double beds. Two people sharing a room who were only friends didnt want to share the bed so one had to sleep on the couch. They were compensated a little bit, free valet parking and breakie but only once they complained they still paid top dollar of $375per night. Ad did we, it honestly was not worth the money, I wont be staying here again. Oh I forgot to mention the jackhammering at 9am on the dot on saturday morning

Another wonderful stay at the Marriott Melbourne!
We had booked a one bedroom suite with city views and found we had been upgraded to Executive Lounge access which was a lovely surprise. The rooms are very spacious and have everything you could want, 2 big tv's so I could watch in the lounge without annoying my husband. A separate lounge/bedroom/walk-in wardrobe with a suitcase bench and ironing board/iron etc. All the usual amenities including good size soap. The Executive lounge is wonderful, free drinks between 5.30pm and 9.30pm with cold meats/cheeses, a couple of hot dishes, lots of different fruits and desserts, a coffee machine, nuts, biscuits etc etc. Min is one of the staff there and is such a find, nothing is too much trouble for her, she remembers names and faces quickly, she left us lovely towel animals and a bottle of wine in the room, really made us feel special, all in all a wonderful staff member amongst a staff made up of special staff, all are excellent but Min shines above the rest. Our stay couldn't have been nicer and we were very happy we had decided to stay there for two nights to attend the Garden Show, it is easy walking distance to the gardens where the show is held so was the obvious choice. The only down side was the fact that I was unable to use the pool, entry is only by a ladder and I require steps with a hand rail. While I found that disappointing, it was far compensated by the Executive Lounge access, we spent both evenings in the lounge reading daily papers and chatting to other guests.

Very nice hotel, Exceptional service
We stayed for 3 nights as a family of 4. We arrived at the hotel at 8:30 am hoping to leave our bagels ready for a day of exploring but the lady at reception checked and said a room was ready so we went straight up! Add to this a small welcome gift of sweets for myself and our kids, it was a very pleasant start after a very early morning flight. The room was not exactly what we booked having a double bed and a sofa instead of two double beds but actually having the room early was better. The room was very clean and amenities were great. We had an issue on our last night getting ready to go out where the shower pressure got too much for the drains and the bathroom drain overflowed into the bathroom and the bedroom. Once we rang reception, they allowed us to use a room across the hall while staff investigated. My husband asked to be moved to a different room given we didn’t know whether this would happen again and the request was accommodated. We were also given a complimentary breakfast the next day. We accept that sometimes things go a bit wrong but the hotel did their best and we weren’t too upset because of the service we received. Will definitely stay again - thank you

Very good 8.0
Upgrade feels like a downgrade
We booked the premier room with the queen size bed but was offered the deluxe room and was told it was an upgrade but the double bed for my 6"3 husband felt like he has moved back into his parents home with a kids bed. The bed wasn't as comfy as other sisters Marriott hotel that we have previously stayed at. The reason why we booked the Marriott was because of the soft and nice bedding that we previously experienced and was looking a relaxing break away from kids. It was uncomfortable and the room was dated. Also, the shower space was very narrow. It was small and narrow even for my Asian 5"3 size... let alone my 6"3 husband. I could hear his elbow hitting the wall every few seconds.

Location, Service, food, comfort- Marriott gets it
Right in the heart of the city is this comfortable and upmarket hotel ticking all the right boxes when it comes to comfort. Their rooms are clean , comfortable and decently spacious and includes all the basic amenities. The toiletries are of the famous aroma therapy brand Thann so no need to carry yours! Breakfast was indulgent with the staff more than happy to cater any and every kind of food intolerances. Location is perfect with a 7-11 next door n IGA around the the corner . All The famous attractions are walking distance away including The city tram station. Pool and spa/sauna/Gym are v clean and a pleasure to visit. Would be very happy to recommend it to anyone and love to come back for another break
