It’s ok, just not for me
This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic setting. It’s not really for holiday makers, it’s a business hotel. The service in the bar area was very average and the food was expensive. The “Local” across the road is a better option for food. The staff are not overly friendly but more stuffy and business like.

Oxford Spires
I was on level 1 right near the lift and the people above me were very noisy as well, lots of banging. There are loads of corridors, I booked this hotel for spa facilities and the trek to get there was so difficult I didn’t bother. I found the staff to be very off hand, made me feel like I was being unreasonable ordering a bar snack.

Exceptional 10.0
A great experience - would go back
A very good experience - nice touches like heated towel rack in the bathroom, beautiful balcony, fresh tea/coffee and biscuits provided daily. The hotel staff were so helpful - I arranged an early check-in and late check-out - this made a huge difference to my stay, as I was travelling to and from Australia. Just one suggestion: it was very humid in Oxford in September - some form of air-conditioning would be most welcome.

Not quite 4* but lovely hotel in general.
The hotel itself was lovely, main reception, bar etc was reflective of a 4*. The deluxe double room wasnt quite up to the standard we had hoped from looking at the booking online. The room was smaller than expected and the bathroom was quite dated. The shower was really bad, if your tall it doesnt go over your head and the power is very low. Just small touches youd expect from a 4* that were missing, air con, mini fridge, bigger shower. Things that are standard in most lesser star chain hotels these days. We recently stayed in a holiday inn that had a much nicer room with more in room facilities. The pool and spa area are ok, but again a little dated. The changing rooms were looking very old. Staff were lovely and helpful, the bar meal we had was good and they were very accommodating. It wouldn't be worth the £140 per night with no breakfast, we paid £70 after exchanging our tesco vouchers and that even felt a little steep for what we got. It's a great location for getting into oxford with a short walk down the River into town. Location wise is great as you can park up without having to navigate around the city and easily walk to the centre. £7.50 per day parking was also reasonable for the area.

Lovely hotel but a not very peaceful room.
Loved the actual hotel, staff and the look of the room. Unfortunately, the room was next to a fire door which was used through the night so you could hear it slam. There was also an annoying pipe noise through the night too. In the morning we found this was coming from the radiator. On checking out a member of staff deducted the car park charge and two drinks from the bar because of these problems.
