Great location but needs thorough clean.
We had a great time here, but we probably won't be back unless the cleanliness is increased a whole lot. Our room was so incredibly dusty it was insane. - Seriously check out under the bed of 1410. Sooo gross. We had 2 kids with us so inevitably somethings wound up under the bed. Really beyond filthy. There was heaps of marks on the walls & you could fill a finger with dust off surfaces. 4 out of 6 of our glasses/coffee cups had visible lip prints on them. Huge turn off! Our milk in the fridge was empty but looked like it hadn't been opened, but stunk! Check in & check out wait time was a bit much, even with the leeway allowed for it being fully booked. However Emma who did both out check in and check out was very polite & friendly. Shout out to the morning breakfast chef - she was great & went & sourced the info I was after for my gluten allergy & brought me out some gf bread personally. We used the lobby pool and spa. They were nice and tidy. Pool was freezing but had plenty of space to sit/watch/put your belongings down. Spa was pretty dirty & was very obvious when the bubbles weren't on. The hotel is in a great location with fabulous ocean view, close to the mall, beach, tram stop & could easily find a convenience store & walk to find nice place for lunch & dinner.

Firstly, the cleaners need to adequately clean rooms When we arrived there was stains on the sink. The cleaners do not wipe or spray anything with a cleaning detergent or surface cleaner. I found this to be highly unhygienic and unprofessional. Sinks, kitchen benchs, mirrors and toilets and door handles should be wiped down and actually cleaned using appropriate cleaning detergents/ sprays to remove all bacteria. Their role seemed to entitle solely changing the bins and towels and straightening out the bed. Guests should be informed to bring their own cleaning products if this is the case to ensure they stay in a clean and bacteria-free environment; to avoid getting sick. Secondly, when housekeeping came around, I saw them personally rinsing out our wine glasses with water and drying them and putting them back in the cupboard. Rinsing a glass with water is so disgusting. What happened to using cleaning detergent to adequately clean dishes to diminish the changes of catching something from someone else. This is obviously how they get cleaned before new guests stay in your room next. I was shocked and disgusted. The housekeeper also questioned if I would like the bed straightened? I mean I wouldn't actually ever say yes and I don't think any guest would feel like they should ask someone to do that. It is assumed a role that would just take place, especially since no one was actually using the bed. My friend and I were out on the balcony. Overall, poor housekeeping

Excellent location - shame about the bar staff
Check-in was fine, room was fine, bar service TERRIBLE! Every hotel I have ever stayed in (and there's been many) sets up a room account for incidentals such as bar, mini bar and dining. At around 5pm my partner and I went down to the bar for a pre-dinner drink only to be advised that our room account wasn't operational. The bar girl stated that I would have to pay cash for the drinks. As the hotel had a preauthorised $200 holding on my credit card, I was most certainly not going to pay cash! The girl contacted Reception to have the matter dealt with and after 10 minutes of waiting for the drinks which were already made she finally released them to us (very reluctantly). I advised her that we were going out and that this matter would have to be finalised on our return. She TOLD me to wait, I said 'no we have a dinner reservation' she rolled her eyes and with that we walked out absolutely disgusted. At checkout in the morning Reception attempted to charge us for the drinks (which of course I refused) and I explained the previous nights performance and they apologised on behalf of the hotel. Reception staff gave me a feedback form to complete which I did at the desk and I'm still waiting for a response from someone authorised at the hotel. I own and operate a Holiday Park and have some idea about customer service. Sorry a 'big fat 0' for the young girl at the bar.

Mould in bathroom glass not clean . Grime in between shower and basin. No free Wi-Fi which I found strange because other hotels in the same area around the same price have free Wi-Fi . Room had cooking facilities however we had a toddler and the knobs were within reach with no option to turn them off in the end we took the knobs off so that there was no risk of an accident, the other small issue we had was that there was a sign instructing us that we could not turn the kettle on whilst it was sitting on the glass hot plate-- however there was no option as the cable cord was short and with only one PowerPoint in area there was no other choice however The staff were friendly and the beds reasonably comfortable-I do think that the curtains needed to be a lot heavier as come 615 the Sun was streaming in and was like broad daylight in the room even though the curtains were drawn- I had a funny experience in the buffet wind trying to make my mum a cup of tea I wanted some cold milk which was not available and had to ask when I suggested that a small jug with some milk in it be made available for guests to use I was told that if It was put it out people would use to which I replied .. well yes because that's what it is put there for isn't it - to be "used"

Not good
This could be a great reasonably priced place to stay, however....check in was really busy and the desk was well understaffed for the problems (& there was more than one) that they were trying to deal with. Staff were very pleasant though. We finally got to our room and all appeared pleasant enough. Simple but neat...until we started to look around: Firstly the bed was made up with sheets but no blanket in sight-nothing in the cupboard either. On checking the bathroom, we found the bin overflowing with rubbish including banana peels and other bits. The towels had obviously not been changed. All of this got fixed immediately upon my presentation to reception, with an assurance that the room was serviced daily. (I was really pleased about this as it is cheap accommodation and I thought maybe not included.) The real problem of our stay, was with the bed. I like a really firm bed, but this was ridiculous. We might as well have been lying on a blanket on the floor. On checkout I suggested that the bed in this room be checked because I doubt anyone who works there would sleep on it. (I pity the poor uni student who cops it during semester.) The week did not improve. The room was not made up once on our four night stay and I had to ask daily for towels. (Yes first world problem I know, but I specifically asked about this service.) The bin did not get emptied once either. Overall, this COULD be a great convenient place to stay, but it needs better organisation at the top.
