Nice hotel but not good for business meetings
Hotel staff was good at check in. Everything is nice. Hotel is a little dated. Only problem I had is I had a business meeting and they would not let the people I had for the meeting with into the hotel. I guess a Brazilian thing. So can’t stay here again because of this issue.

It was perfect stay but they didn’t have iron in the room or microwave . That gave us problem as we had to wear clothes with out ironing . There was laundry facility but they take one day to deliver iron clothes . That’s a big minus point

Good hotel, just not good on the weekend
I liked this hotel a lot. It was one of four difference ones that I stayed at during my recent trips. However, scheduling got messed up and I ended up at this place beginning on a Saturday for what was supposed to be four nights. I knew centro shut down on the weekends, especially Sundays, but I didn't realize how bad it would be. Nothing was open that Sunday except one lonely Mcdonalds near the hotel. Regarding the hotel, the room was large and nice. Comfortable bed and good shower. All of the elevators worked very well. The weather was bad so I didn't get to go to the pool area. The morning breakfast was above average I would say. In the end though, the isolation in centro of that first weekend got to me, so I booked another hotel in Copacabana beginning what was suppose to be my 3rd day at this hotel. Yes, I ate the last two days I had already paid for with this hotel. I just wanted out of the area. Would I stay here again? Yes, but only for a couple of days and only during the week.

Overpriced for the quality offered
Building is old and the room could be better. In room fridge was very old and bed was not the best for the price of the hotel.

Efficient front desk, but Rio Centro best avoided
Windsor Hotel had a perfect city centre location - however after we arrived we realised that Rio Centro is under near-lockdown on holidays and weekends due to the unsafe conditions and crime. But the hotel had adequate precautions to keep us safe once inside. We must also mention the total lack of English everywhere. One front desk officer (His name started with a V) was most helpful - offered us an early checkin after a 12 hour flight (most useful!) And also was patient enough to call the airline and wait over 45 minutes (after speaking to 3 call centre reps) to get our meal requests updated by AZUL airlines - which had no English website or English call centre persons we could connect with. he truly went beyond his call of duty and ensured our flight out had vegetarian food for us! There was no way we could have done this ourselves. Room is nice and large, but ac is very cold and doesn't adjust well based on the temp settings. Pool on the roof is also just a small water body and of hardly any use.

It is a nice hotel, well located for those mainly on business trip, since it is at the heart of Rio downtown. Additionally, good proximity to several tourist points, and short trip to domestic airport, as well as close to highways leading to out of town and international airport.

The front desk staff were amazing, very professional and very patient for help.
