Elegant and Relaxing
I was here attending a special event in one of the ballrooms. My room was readily available upon check-in, so I was able to drop off my bag and continue with my day. It was very helpful that the room was available earlier than usual. I neglected to place my breakfast order the night before, but when I called it in the following morning, room service promptly delivered. I was so grateful. This was my first stay at this location and it was absolutely delightful in every respect. I would definitely stay here again.

Good 6.0
Had several issues here, all of which surprised me. Our package included free valet parking and free breakfast. On arrival at the hotel we saw there was also self-parking, which we preferred, but when we then went to check in and asked about getting our ticket stamped we learned that the self-park was not free and we had to rush to get our car out and back to valet parking. The free breakfast also lead to some confusion as we didn't know the monetary limit. The server told us if we got the buffet and juice/coffee it would be covered, but we didn't want to so my husband had to run out to ask at the desk (there was a $75 limit for us combined, which doesn't go that far at the RC ;-). There was no information in the room about the hotel (restaurants, hours, fitness center, TV stations, etc.) which I have found in essentially every hotel ever. I asked the concierge if we could have one sent up and she professed no idea what I was talking about, and said she had never been in a hotel with such a book, but we could call the front desk every time we had a question. Lots of calls to the front desk! Also, the reading lamp above my bed didn't work but I was just too tired to call the front desk again :-( People were generally pleasant and the room was nice but nothing really special. Would have been fine for a Hampton Inn but disappointing for the RC.

Very good 8.0
Great property. Perfect location. Beautiful design. Super comfortable beds and pillows. Cookies that included recipes were great. Great in room dining. Service great, but front desk people did not follow up on requests properly. Charging to use the gym is not cool and charging for the WiFi, at a Ritz property at this point is offensive and ridiculous. Breakfast is very good, but service slow and sloppy. Need to get much better there.

A lovely hotel
Each time I stay at a Ritz property, I am reminded why they are the best. I stayed three nights with my 7-yr old twins and 5-yr old for a fun weekend of sight-seeing. We were welcomed graciously, and loved the property. The housekeeping staff could not have been better -- caring for our every need and seeing that the children had their special teddy bears tucked in each night with turn-down service. Room service had a glitch one day that made us late for a scheduled tour. The manager called to apologize profusely, then treated us to a beautiful breakfast the next day. She didn't have to do that, and showed that she genuinely regretted the lack of service the day before. The interior of the hotel was smashing -- and the neighborhood was very walkable. We will be back.

Exceptional 10.0
Liked everything except location. We were there to sight see and it was off the central area of where we wanted to be. We had to cab or uber it everywhere. Hotel was also freezing, especially on the room floors. Walking into the hallway from your room was like stepping into a cold storage freezer! Otherwise everything else was excellent especially the service from the bellman and doormen to the concierge, front desk wait staff and housekeeping. Couldn't ask for better service anywhere in the world really. Concierge, Tiffany was particularly outstanding. Rooms were clean and bedding luxuirious with bathrooms that were set up thoughtfully for two people in a room. We would definitely recommend the hotel especially for business travelers and parents visiting their college and grad school children since hotel is so near to GW University.
