Poor service, average stay
We stayed here for one night in transit out of HK. We didn't have a great check in experience, waited over 30 mins to be served, and the staff was unapologetic. They also served others prior to us who were not in line which was frustrating as we had traveled a distance to get to the hotel. The location is also not ideal, need to walk to the station (around 15mins) to get around. The area around is not family friendly, lots of bars and clubs, so would avoid if you are travelling with children. We also didn't have great service on checkout, when we asked about the airport shuttle, we were told we had to book the day before, which we were not told on check in. We ended up taking all our luggage and walking to the station, (with me being 26 weeks pregnant), and transiting 2 lines to get to the airport. I would recommend staying in central HK, close proximity to transport and restaurants/cafes.

Terrible check in experience
I reserved the hotel on day and during typhoon day. I tried to line up for a counter with 2 front desk staffs for check in but they were taking so long time on dealing their guests. Then I switched to a free staff. I stood in front of him and waited for his acknowledgement before I approached him. Yet, he kept lookingdown for his computer until I asked if he is available for check in. He asked am i travelling with the group of next counter. This approach made me knew that he was aware I was here but not offering any help. He said he upgraded me to harbour view which I wasn't care. That's 21:00 already. But he hasn't mentioned the bedding has been changed to Twin. This is what I care about!! He took my credit card for deposit and issue me the key without signing any registration card. I further asked for late check out which was confirmed. I left my partner's name who will be checking in later with acceptance. When I be in the room, it was Twin bedding. They quoted me supplement for larger room when I call down. I asked for my original room back and he told me it was overbooked. King bed only in the larger room with supplement. If oversold the room for maximising your revenue, you shouldn't tell me you have upgraded me to Harbour view and I told you I don't care already. The check in staff was hiding the fact to me upon check in. I was upset and they ask my partner's credit card and said I wasn't check in yet. What a service!

Very good 8.0
Great location, fab views, Good value for money!!
The harbourview is in an excellent location for exploring Hong Kong and convenient for the star ferry. We had a fabulous view from the 15th floor over the harbour. The room was smallish by todays standards but well equipped and clean. The breakfast was excellent - good quality well cooked food and lots of choice. The decor of the hotel is rather dated and the corridors could use a refresh. The bed was rather firm and we had to ask for extra pillows, which were delivered very quickly. the staff were both friendly and helpful.he shuttle service from the airport to hotel was excellent.Overall great value for money.

Exceptional 10.0
Comfortable, easy walk to A12 Airport Express Bus
Stayed here on an off for most of December. Easy 5 minute walk from A12 bus stop Airport Express. Rooms clean, staff nice and some sort of YMCA link with the hotel means there was a 'kind personality' approach - not corporate. The hotel is opposite a clean public park which can be accessed by an overpass in the next building - so good place if you have kids that need to run around - but stairs everywhere! The next building has a number of cafes if you need something to eat nearby. Wan Chai railway station is a 7-10 minute walk - there are escalator overpasses over all main roads - but make sure you can manage stairs in the event they are not working otherwise stay on footpaths! The Ferry terminal is a 30 minute walk. This is a good location if you want to be in bustling Wan Chai but don't want to be surrounded by neon-lights/ red-lights/ bars and drinking tourists. The MRT system is fantastic, easy to navigate with everything in English and good connections from Wan Chai to Central/ Admiralty where most lines connect. The hotel is near a number of government buildings so there are thousands of office workers during commuting peak times.

The Harberview
Personally I found the room small, access to the wardrobe was tight with the doublebed. Airconditioner was very efficient. A-La cart menu only available at mezanine floor, little used. Gym.quite small, limited excercise area/machines. If more than two or three persons using the gym at the same time, it would be overcrowded. Notwithstanding the above, the location is quite convenient to get around.
