Fair 4.0
Cleaning of room was awful. We had breakfast in our room the first morning. When we returned in the evening the breakfast stuff was still there, as were empty wine glasses. Only bed was made. They also did not replace water bottles so when I went to reception it took forever for them to understand my complaint. I asked them to clear the mess and also provide replacement of complimentary water bottles from the first day. They failed to do this, and the same happened the next day. Also the bar is. It manned. We had to ring a bell only for the man on hotel reception eventually come to serve us. He started with “don’t order any cocktails as I’m not good at those”. So we played safe, we ordered a glass of champagne and a Guinness. After 5 minutes he came back and said they had no Guinness and offered me a Heineken instead. 10 minutes later he came back with our drinks, with the champagne in a half full wine glass, not a champagne glass. All in all this was a really poor experience. Hotel is poorly run with staff that are not interested in giving good customer service. We booked a superior double but it was a pretty basic room. We also asked for an iron and ironing board on our first morning only to be told an hour after asking that they couldn’t give me one, so we had to walk round Paris in creased clothes. All in all, worst experience I have had from a hotel. Avoid!!!

Close to shopping district
I loved the front desk staff and my room. It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The bed was super comfortable and I loved the bathroom/shower. The only issue I had was the elevator. I thought it was too outdated and ridiculously small. Only 1 person and 1 suitcase can fit into it. I didn't like that. I think you need to install a bigger and more modern elevator. Also, the hallways are too dark. My room was 111 and I felt a little scared of falling in the stairwell because it was too close to it. I think it isn't safe for customers who are visually impaired because if they come out of room 111, they might fall into the stairwell. I think the architectural planning of this hotel isn't so good. You need to make some changes and restructure it. V. disappointed with elevator. Hotel needs to be renovated and remodelled.

Amazing Example of Parisian Chic
The design of this hotel is beautiful! So chic and classy - what I think of when thinking of French/Parisian Chic. The design of the bathroom especially was lovely. I got a room that was a single so it was a little tight - there was no good space to set down and open my large suitcase. Other than that it was very comfortable and nothing else to fault. The location of the hotel is also great, near metro lines, and walkable from Gare du Nord (15 minutes away and I did it with my large suitcase). There are also nice restaurants around the area, with the famed Le Bouillon Chartier just down the road if you want to try out not overpriced French food in Paris in a restaurant with great decor and casual feel.

The Hotel Pulitzer is located in Montemarte, a very working class neighborhood in Paris. Lots of small shops, small restaurants, lots of people walking, biking, bustling. It is not glitzy or sophisticated. I really like it there, but my wife would prefer more glamour. From this hotel, we walked to the Left Bank, with Luxembourg Gardens, the Sorbonne, etc. we walked to the Arc of Triumpg, and all the museums. This hotel is rated as four star. The room was not huge, but adequate size. The closet and bureau with drawers and bathroom were adequate. There was no outside noise. The air conditioner worked well. The room was clean. Breakfast buffet had fresh fruits, cereals, yougurts, fresh breads and pastries, eggs, cheese, some meats, coffee machines. It was fine. The price we paid was lower than many other four star hotels in more Luxurious neighborhoods. It was a verybreasonable price for Paris. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Exceptional 10.0
Excellent, moody hotel in a vibrant part of Paris.
Amazing lobby. Old world furniture, awesomely dim mood lighting, elegant bar, etc. The room, elevator, stairs, were tiny. This is to be expected of any old hotel in Europe (or any old civilization, really). The room was comfortable and elegant. There was some perfume (their own branded scent) sprayed about. As I am not particularly keen on cologne, I opened the window promptly to air it out. They didn't add any when they performed room service, which is good. Honestly, after staying at 4+ hotels on my trip to Paris and Toulouse, this was by far my favorite, and the most memorable. The Rue Berger area where the hotel is located is really cool, too. Lots of foreign cuisine, a vibrant night life, and very walk-able. Feels less touristy, but with all the amenities tourists require. The "wine moment" given with a certificate upon check in was actually very nice. The house Bordeaux they served was excellent. The last-minute rate /"secret price" available through was a killer deal.
