Sleepy receptionist
The reception people are so so. I had to ask questions to a receptionist who kept yawning during the conversation. The fact that we hit charged $40 per night in addition to the room rate was a little surprising but we enjoyed drinking cocktails at the bar and it turned out to be delightful. The room is always clean and the location is superb.

Great room and friendly service. The hotel is quite busy on it is better if you can tolerate crowds. But it is well maintained and service was very good. Cost was reasonable for NYC.

1st Time to NYC, so that might be part of this. Nice historic hotel. Small rooms, I guess that is to be expected in NYC now that I have been. We would have had a nice view from 16, but there was a net blocking. It looks like the exterior is deteriorating, and being worked on.
