Good location
Grand old building in a great location close to transport and walking distance to some attractions. Good variety of restaurants close by. Room was clean and comfortable.

Lovely heritage style hotel in city centre
Lovely old building with a lot of character. Check in was smooth and staff were friendly and helpful. We got a massive room with comfortable bed, only downside was an unattractive view out the window. Great location in the city centre.

A grand old lady.
The hotel is gorgeous with friendly staff. We were very spoilt during our stay. The variety of choice at breakfast was extensive and very nice. The building hasn’t lost any of its grandeur, it’s gorgeous. It’s location is very central and within walking distance of most attractions. We will be back one day.

Great stay
The hotel and staff are lovely. The staff would help with any matter immediately. I was at the hotel for business and the only down side was the fact that the gym didn't open until 6:30am which made things a bit of a rush. Other than that a fabulous stay, close to lots of great restaurants. I brought the family with me and they walked everywhere very convenient.

Friday night stay
We had a relaxing and most enjoyable one night stay at this remarkable hotel. During these testing times the hotel managed to maintain its very high standards of comfort and care which was very much appreciated We look forward to staying at the Midland again soon.

Poor 2.0
The hotel is under renovations. Heavy drilling can be heard and heavy vibrationS when lying in bed today. No bats which is the main reason for selecting the hotel so we had somewhere to have a drink after our meal out. This was not clear when booking and should have been. Usual polite service from the staff and room was fine but not the trip we expected and took the shine off what was a nice day away

Very good 8.0
It's hard to be fully fair to the hotel as we travelled during the COVID-19 shut down. This meant that we could not use any of the hotel's facilities and there was an impact on staffing levels. Thus this review will focus entirely on our room, as that's where we spent all our time. Because of the shut down we were upgraded to a junior suite. This was nice that we had two spaces, but it felt that the bed was in the wrong half. It was directly next to the entrance door, which meant there was light and noise spill at night, and was under the noisy air conditioning.
