On arrival- I was allocated a room on the third floor. The bathroom was dirty from previous guests (no toilet paper, toilet dirty). I went back down to the reception to complain and the gentleman provided me with three keys to go and inspect the rooms and choose which one I would like. I asked him to come up to see my original room and allocate me the cleanest room as I didn’t want to walk around the whole hotel Inspecting rooms. He said no. So I selected the cleanest room, and had to Walk the remaining keys back down to reception. New room: Wifi did not work (room 352), it did in the hallway however. Room infested with mosquitoes. Breakfast not great, better to go out to a cafe. Aircon in room did work. On the last night the water in my room stopped working. Overall - staff are less than helpful and my stay wasn’t worth the money I paid.

A clean bed to sleep in.
I booked 1 night in this hotel for 3 reasons. It was close to where our friends were going to meet us the next day. It had airconditioning and it looked clean in te photos. It was close and the bed was clean. The room had an AC unit but it didn't cool the room down more than about 3 degrees on a 96 (36C) degree day. It was very difficult to sleep. The hotel is very old. The wall paper in the room was peeling off the floor boards in spots. The floor had 2 dents that almost made my wife trips twice. The shower looked to have mold in the grout and the drain was slow but the shower did have plenty of pressure. There are only 2 plugs in the room and neither are by the bed so plugging the phone in while sleeping meant my alarm was across the room. No big deal of course but definitely no snooze function (ha ha). The staff are nice. At check in my wife and I were greeted in a friendly manner and everything went smoothly. I went down later to ask for help with the air conditioning and the front desk person came up to help. He said it was as good as it gets. He had another room that we could switch into but all of the AC units are the same so we weren't going to notice anything cooler. Breakfast the next morning was convenient and with a decent variety of pastry, yoghurt and cold cuts. (Typical breakfast food in Italy). Food were restocked when they went low too whih is good. It is nice to have this option rather than hunting for a restaurant when you have a schedule to keep.

This hotel does not look anything like the photos on the website. The first clue was the worn down dirty welcome mat that greeted us on arrival and it just got worse from there, the lobby is dark, dirty and shabby in appearance. The staff are not friendly, upon check out and paying my bill they didn’t say thank you or ask how our stay was. The room we were in appeared to be a newer renovated room in a wing off the main building with IKEA like furniture that did not fit with the rest of the hotel. The room had an air conditioning unit that we couldn’t get the remote to work on , a staff member came and switched it on but we couldn’t change the settings or switch it off after this which resulted in freezing nights. The breakfast room was also dirty and the bathroom off the breakfast room had mosiquitos in it constantly. The elevator has a note on it that you could only have max two people and baggage, it didn’t fill me with a great confidence. The location was good, near the train station but also walking distance to some nice restaurants and the main attractions of Florence. However for the price I paid and the photos on the website I was incredibly disappointed, this hotel was terrible value for money.

Unfortunately the hotel looks tired and dirty, not like the pictures. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, peeling and dirty paintwork. Staff utterly rude, don't even make eye contact or greet you. When we checked out the receptionist just took the key and didn't look at us. Bed ok and breakfast ok but would never stay there again. Such a shame in such a beautiful city. Have stayed in some lovely b&bs in Florence...this hotel doesn't compare.

Poor 2.0
Photos in the advert are misleading
This is not a hotel, the building doesn’t look anything like the photos in the advert. The building is HORRIBLE. The pictures in the advert are misleading, in one of the photos there is a large fully lit communal area, in reality this area is always dark, hot, smelly with filthy seats and full of mosquitoes. There is only one lift in the building which fits two people only, I think the lift was installed in the 1960s, if you are lucky, you’ll get a room on a floor level which the lift reaches, otherwise you’ll get a room with no flat access to the lift, all rooms on the fourth floor don’t have access to the lift and you’ll still climb stairs. Room condition: we were three adults and the room I was given had two single beds on one side and one double bed on the other side. There was no control for the air condition, the air condition (fan coil) on the double bed’s side was not working so the air-con unit on the single beds side had to compensate, so we ended up with a freezing side and a warm side. The shower is so small, so anyone with height above 160cm will struggle to fit in the shower. The shower overflows if you open the water tab to the full. Signs of damp are clear in the shower and in the room. Render in the shower and the room was falling off because of the damp. The room I stayed in was full of mosquitoes, one light bulb was falling from ceiling. Expedia wouldn’t let me write more. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
