Faulty Towers
Popped into this hotel to check the booking was fine for the night given we had 4 rooms booked. Told us we only had 3 rooms booked! Wrong!! I booked 4... why would I lie? Anyway after spending 30 minutes trolling through emails and looking like a room thief i found the email .. The mistake was 3 rooms booked under my first name where's has one started with my middle name due to the cards I used to book with. However all where booked under my last name which is not a common name Surely an efficient receptionist would of spotted This? Nup not this one. .. then I was told that only 3 rooms had been paid for? Errrrm no, and another half hour going through emails to find the pre pay voucher to prove id paid for all 4! "Oh ok maybe we just haven't requested payment yet from the agent like that's my problem??? Also at this point being told the twin room is booked was in fact a double room with a double bed!!! Errr don't think so, it's two lads sharing and I booked a twin, two single beds not a double. 30 minutes later going through emails to yet again to prove this fact!!! Like I lie about these things because I want to stay at this place free and not pay .... Very incompetent staff - Stay at your own risk!

Good 6.0
Very disapointing service
Although we did appreciate the effort the manager took to make things right, we encountered the following issues: 1) Room 507 not being a quiet room as promised and the small size of the room and bed (which clearly is not a luxurious super king bed as booked) 2) the executive room deal mentioned a daily newspaper, so upon arrival, we rang to ask reception how we booked this for the next day and what choices were available. They did not know, but sent someone from housekeeping to our room, who told us that newspapers were not provided in the room, only magazines were. She suggested we go back to reception if we wanted a newspaper as she did not have any. We did not do this, but later that evening someone turned up at our door with a Manchester evening post. We did not get a newspaper on Sunday, but on Monday a Times was put under our door. We are unsure what the correct procedure is for ordering a newspaper, but it would be helpful if Jury's staff knew. 3) we were not given any costa coffee vouchers, nor were there any in the room. These were provided by the housekeeping staff after we requested them from reception (first night only, we did not get any for the second night). 4) the executive room deal states a selection of teas will be in the room, there was only PG tips in room, hardly a choice. 5) when we checked out, we asked how we obtained the 15% discount for the NCP, the receptionist said she would validate our car park ticket. However we were charged the full price

Disappointing
I book this hotel as a suprise for my husband as we had travelled far for his birthday which was on New Years Day. When leaving our room on one occasion, we realised that our door wouldn't lock. We then spent 20 minutes trying to get hold of staff to come and fix the door which meant we were late for our party arrangements. I requested for something special to be in our room for my husband as it was his birthday and I did not get a respose back from staff after I had sent the hotel an email. The tissue box in our room only contained one tissue. The staff at reception were not friendly I am very disappointed with the service and even more upset that I spent so much money on this hotel to make my husband's birthday perfect. I feel this hotel did not meet my needs as a customer

Exceptional 10.0
Nice quiet hotel
On arrival there was a delay in checking in which ment we were stood around for about 15 minutes waiting. Once checked in we headed to the room which was lovely. Nicely present, very clean and bed was super comfy. Shower very powerful and the water was nice and hot. Hotel check out time is actually 12pm not 11am as stated on here and the hotel staff were not aware of the free 2 hour late check out which was offered on expedia. I spoke with the night staff and showed them the email stating this and they were happy to allow us to check out at 1pm at no extra cost. Hotel is within walking distance to the city centre and shops. No hotel parking but there are car parks near by however these are expensive (£24 for 24 hours) the hotel does offer a discount on this parking but it is only 15% off which is disappointing. Generally a nice hotel, best nights sleep we have had in ages and would definitely stay again.

Very good 8.0
Very good hotel. Perfect for The Bridgewater Hall
We stayed one night for a Russell Watson concert at the Bridgewater Hall which was just across the road, as was the car park, so a very convenient choice of hotel. On arrival the reception staff were friendly and efficient and we soon arrived in our room. Although small for 2 people...more like a largish single, the cleanliness and comfort of the room was very good. We decided to eat in the bar. I had the salmon which was excellent and my husband had a selection of tasty nibbles which he enjoyed. Drinks are expensive! The concert was brilliant! and later the comfortable bed and quiet situation of the room both added to a great nights sleep. Great breakfast too! All in all, couldn't fault it. Thank you.
