Very good
decent hotel, no fuss no frills
When we checked in .. Anastasia was the front office lady serving us, she was very helpful and knowledgeable. When we check out early next morning at 6.30am .. the Front office serving us was Muhammed (cannot really remember his name clearly) . we had to leave the bags and he lead us to a room, he gave us the options of paying to leave it, or storing it in an unlocked area, although he highlighted that its at our own risk, then when he walked out, without assisting us to open the gates nor giving us a luggage tag to identify our bag. Through out the whole day, the feeling was awful because I was unable to be at ease if the bags will be taken away because there was no identification. Of course when we arrive back later that evening, Ms Anastasia was there, and she assisted us with the bags... and she was apologetic on how unsafe I felt over my luggage incident. Other than that I am please with the cleanliness of the hotel and all. the location is fantastic, cos it's just a 5 mins walk to the Train station.

Very good
great location.
Hotels location is great as its inside the free tram zone, close to the train station and easy walking distance, about 10 minutes to main shopping areas. Initially felt a bit shady as the entrance is down what felt like an alleyway - we arrived late evening - but once you get used to the fact Melbournes character in the city is alleys ways and small side streets then it was all okay. Hotel is very clean. Rooms are out dated but comfortable and clean. Shower is over the bath. Dont provide hand towels but you can get more towels and love that you can select the time period that suits you to have your room serviced. Staff were incredible, couldnt be more helpful on each and every occasion. Knowledgeable about the area, sorted out a minor issue with the room quickly, gave ideas on where to eat.

Exceptional
Very pleasant last minute overnight
Due to bad weather in Sydney my flight was cancelled and no replacement available until next afternoon on Jetstar. Have stayed at this hotel often over the years and this time the wonderful checkin staff upgraded my room to an apartment after hearing about my terrible day. This was much appreciated and as usual service was great and this Ibis is in a handy location to everything including Skybus back to airport next day. Would choose to return again on my next visit.

Exceptional
Good Value hotel close to everything
I enjoyed my short stay here and found the location to be great to go in any direction and it was quiet. The beds are comfortable although they do need to flip the mattresses as the dominant side of the bed had a bit of a dip. Rooms have everything you need including a small fridge which was great to keep a salad or yoghurt for breakfast if you did not purchase breakfast with your room. I purchased breakfast for 2 days of my stay and although expensive because I did it on arrival it was worth it as the quality, variety, amount and standard was very good. You have so many different choices of places to have a drink and a bite to eat. Short walk to trams going in any direction and if you don't go out of the "free tram zone" then its a great way to see the city.

Very good
This hotel is very closed to Southern Cross Station, so it is very convenient to travel from and to the airport. The staff is friendly and nice. The room is clean and tidy. The water is hot enough even if the weather is cold. It is a bit disappointing because there is no balcony in my room. Also, I could not adjust the temperature of the room freely. The temperature was around 19°C for the whole day.
