Comfortable room. Hotel in convenient central location. We received clean towels daily, however there were no towel rails to hang them on! The worst service we received was from an old lady on reception one night who answered my query with, "No, no, no, no, no." That was rather rude.

Hotel is fine if you just need a basic place to stay. Close to Exeter City Centre and reasonable sized room. It just lacks some basic amenities that I would normally expect at a Mercure (mini fridge, gym, shower caps, tissues, moisturiser). Cleaning wasn’t thorough with clumps of hairs left on the bed by cleaners (that weren’t ours) so it was a bit dissappointing for the price. Parking is also additional (£10/day) which wasn’t clear when we booked - it just referenced that parking was available for customers.

Well located but found the parking very difficult to find & there was a 20pound per night fee. Some of the reception staff not very helpful. Breakfast area & choice of food very good, the staff very friendly.

Stayed 3 weeks. The room was fabulous, and the staff friendly and very helpful. The shower was amazing, wish I could have brought it home with me. Very clean. Location perfect. Would totally recommend to anyone.

The hotel location was excellent. The staff very good. The condition of the hotel was also very good. The only downside was the room had no air conditioning and only a cheap not very effective fan. As a result the room was extremely hot during the night making for a not very pleasant sleep.

The room was nice and clean, and a nice hotel. Would suit somebody who is out in the pubs all night. If you wish to stay in and watch TV, there is a problem, of the 23 free view channels on UK TV the Rougemont had 5, only the basic. Unless you want to watch the news all night don't stay there. I did speak to the manager, he was very polite, but the excuse was rather lame.

Location wise this is a great hotel sitaued accross the road from Exeter Central Station. The car park is very small and limited spaces with 24 hour parking £8 for guests. My main grip was a poor nights sleep with the room backing on to the kitchen ventalation units so noisy until late at night and from early morning. It was a hot evening, there is no AC in the room so I had to sleep with the window open. I have to weigh up location which is great with a £69 room which is very good versus a bad nights sleep. Other than that hotel is clean and tidy for a Victorian building.
