Beware of internal rooms.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Clayton. Staff were friendly. The location was great. Walking distance of all of Dublin City. The only thing I didn’t like was that our room overlooked h inside of the hotel. No natural light or ability to have your curtains open due to no privacy. The hotel also doesn’t have a number of the street where it is so having a GPS we were only able to put that in and it was extremely difficult to find. It took us an hour driving around Cork city. So we arrived frazzled and then to be given a room with no light I wasn’t happy. The hotel was clean. Breakfast had a good selection.

good overnight stay
reception & check in was quick & easy, nice lobby area should you wish to relax there. I was expecting a room with a double & single bed, it actually had a double & 2 singles, not that I need them. Decent size room with plenty of storage for the few people that like to unpack their bags & although I didn't look extremely closely appeared to clean to me. Decent bathroom with a proper sized bath that you can stretch out in for a proper soak. Free wifi in the room was of a good speed & easy to connect to. Buffet breakfast was your typical fare, good selection of both hot & cold foods. Hard to pick fault with my stay to be honest

Needs to do better
I have stayed at a few Clayton hotels around Ireland and found them to be good. Not this one I arrived at around 4pm and the music from down stairs at the bar was already thumping, the room overlooked the foyer, when I rang down to ask to be shifted or for the music to be turned off, it was turned off but that didn't stop the people down stairs from shouting and laughing at the top of there voices until around 10:30- 11:00pm. bed was like a plank of wood and the pillows weren't much better. Very disappointed in the whole thing.
