Exceptional
Expensive but worth it.
Wife and I stayed for 11 nights at One Aldwych and enjoyed nearly every minute. Our Expedia booked room was a bit on the small side, with a shower in the tub. So we upgraded to a room with a king sized bed, two exposures, two nice chairs, a desk, and a shower separate from the tub. It was very comfortable. The service is impeccable. Maid service in the morning left everything absolutely spotless. Turn down service in the evening the same. Complimentary fruit every day. Cookies every now and then. Outstanding lobby bar, with wonderful drinks. Music on some nights. But the best feature was the ability to walk most everywhere. Hardly ever took a taxi. Walked to theater, the best restaurants, underground when needed for excursions, etc. If London theater is your thing, you cannot do better than being at One Aldwych for location. Will stay here again on next trip.

Exceptional
I can’t say enough about what a wonderful hotel this is. My family and I were treated like Royalty! (No pun intended) from the moment we arrived. The room was comfortable and immaculate. The pool and gym were equally well maintained and stylish in their own right. The location is unbelievable, right in the center of everything and easy to navigate your day from. You know that moment during a vacation when you’re saying to yourself “I’m ready to go home”? I never felt that way staying here. My wife and I had a nightly ritual of having a cappuccino in the lobby bar and recapping our days adventure. The staff grew to know us and it felt like we were family. Hope to make it back again one day.

New Year’s Eve break
We stayed here for New Years Eve. So it was obviously more expensive than usual but we expected that. The welcome we received was excellent and all the staff very friendly. The rooms weren’t large but very clean with s lovely bathroom Ad we left we were asked if anything could be improved and we said tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We were told that this could be arranged if requested along with an ironing board. Apparently due to lack of space they are not standard in every room. I probably would only return if there was a special offer available as although it was a 5 Star hotel I feel that the four star Waldorf where we usually stay has larger rooms with more facilities and generally better value for money. I would say however that the service at One Aldwych cannot be faulted.

Great hotel, great location
We spent 4 nights at this hotel and liked it very much. We will probably return. The location is excellent for plays and restaurants. It’s pretty close to the Covent Garden tube station too. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the shower. It’s in the bathtub and you have to step over a tall bathtub wall to get in. The shower head is too close to the end wall so you have to stand right up against the wall. And you have to carefully position the hinged glass side wall at an angle to drain water back into the tub. If you don’t, you get a flood on the bathroom floor! Poor design. But we learned to deal with the shower and everything else about this place was great!

Good
The staff indicated that the property was going to undergo a significant remodel in the first half of 2019, and it's clearly needed. The rooms were dated and cramped, with none of the comforts you'd expect from a modern business hotel. I'll refrain from pointing out the myriad details about the hotel that were wanting in nearly every regard as I expect they'll all be addressed during the refurbishment. What I WILL mention is that the service and the staff were absolutely exceptional. They were kind, helpful, and wonderful in every way. They deserve a pristine, modern establishment to run, and hopefully that's what they'll get soon enough.
