Poor 2.0
Horrible experience! 1. Everyone in their staff besides the valet parking guys was below any standards. Even in a 2 stars hotel you will find a better attitude. The pool crew had no manners, and couldn't complete basic tasks. They call you my friend when you order. Upon check out the front desk lady was incapable of anything. She was Absolutely out of her element! No idea what she was doing there. Can't operate a computer and provide basic help. Very poor customer service, I had to repeat everything twice. It was like a stand-up comedy but it wasn't funny! She was not capable of any help besides printing the bill. 2. It's a 2-star hotel! You can hear people walking and talking in the corridors. If a kid runs (every 5 min) it's like someone is banging really loud something and the whole place will fall apart. It's one of those places that have different smells in every room you walk in. Impossible to sleep without earplugs! The drive-inns seems like a similar experience! 3. The cleaning lady took a paper bag (supposedly trash) with some of our valuable items. When we asked for help finding that bag no one even bother to search. Everyone acted up like we didn't matter and made us feel insignificant. Literally it wasn't their problem! I paid for 2 rooms total of 11 nights. Staying there was hard! I was going to cancel our stay the first night, but everything was booked in SD for Comicon. The last 2 days I even got food poisoning by their shrimps! Never staying again!

Fair 4.0
I booked this hotel through Expedia. First of all be aware that you will be charged an additional $75 a night on top of what you are already paying. $35 a night to self park in THEIR PARKING GARAGE ATTACHED TO THE HOTEL! You aren’t told that when you check in and there was no legible sign when parking about the fee. Plus they charge an additional $40 a night for a “resort” fee. For WiFi we didn’t use and I guess the pool that was always over crowded with tons of kids running around screaming and you might get a lounge chair if you’re early. Also the maid service is sporadic as we didn’t have our room cleaned 3 out of 5 nights and we were sure to leave the room early and not come back until 4 ish. There was also strange banging noises during the day, may have been construction. Just beware of added expenses.

Very good 8.0
Perfect for a family trip
We spent 5 days here. Resort fee was $25US/day, included free bike rental (surreys not included - these were $25/hour and we found cheaper and better surreys for rent around the corner....AFTER we'd rented the rip-off hotel surreys), use of fitness facilities, wifi, calls, parking. Food at the restaurant and in-room was disappointing. Gym was really nice. Pools were ok, could use an update. We ended up doing take out and grocery shopped for most of our meals that were at the hotel. Location was ok - quick access to the bridge that brought us across to Balboa Park etc. within 15 min, some restaurants closeby, bit of a beach/pier steps away. The room was great, we were traveling with our tot and the staff were quick to accommodate us with a crib and extra towels, plus the room had a fridge and large bathroom with a tub and separate shower. The restaurant and front desk staff were ok. The staff at the fitness center and who did the cleaning and maintenance were awesome. One frustration was having to call the front desk, then the restaurant, then another department for a hot water kettle to boil water for infant formula. Good customer service would have been for the front desk to put in the request on behalf of the guest. Instead, I wasn't even transferred, I had to call all departments separately and wait and wait...not what I want to do on holidays. In the end we gave up and bought bottled water to make infant formula.

Exceptional 10.0
I never stayed at the opposite end of the Del before and wanted to try it for Firework viewing over the bay. It is front row viewing of the biggest firework display in San Diego. It was fabulous. The remodel is wonderful. The gym has everything needed for a really good 'on vacation' workout. There are even steam rooms. The lobby bar and outside restaurant have beautiful views and the service was great. Bike rental was available from the fitness center, too! It might be my new favorite spot on the island.

Very good 8.0
A lovely resort hotel in a great location.
We had a great stay at the resort, service, cleanliness and facilities were all excellent. sadly only stayed for a few days but may come back. Was disappointed when we checked out to have had a daily parking charge of $35 added to our bill. We thought this was a one off charge, not daily. Made our final bill a bit of a surprise.
