Hipster oasis in Union Square
The Emblem has a cool hipster vibe about it with lots of SF poet references in art and literature. It's up the street from Union Square, which is not always great at night, but the hotel makes it worth it. I would stay there again.

Cute hotel!
Lovely hotel and we enjoyed our 1 night stay. All the staff are amazing and friendly. Very accommodating. If sounds of water running etc are going to bother you then don't book this place. It's more like a home where you can hear water from other rooms etc. and from the kitchen even though we were on the 6th floor. Everything else was great and they accommodated all our needs!
