Decent location hotel with v comfortable big bed. It’s 15min walk to the waterfront boardwalk but a safe walk or drive as parking at the waterfront. Hotel was having building works to the entrance area, hopefully to install electric doors. The breakfast room is tiny, about 6 tables for a big hotel, that’s poor. Parking is plentiful and free outside the door. It seems the hotel is used to stay by contract workers (builders etc) which does mean from 6am, bedroom doors slam in corridors when they go to breakfast and depart. So it’s fine if you’re a heavy sleeper or have brilliant ear plugs but if you’re expecting to sleep beyond 6am, it’s unlikely! Otherwise a decent stop before starting the Cabot Trail.

I stayed overnight while on a business trip. THe room was quiet, clean and comfortable. It was possible to turn off the unnecessary aircon without having it roar back on in the middle of the night. I could not get the wifi to connect, but used the hotspot for my laptop. THe location was a 15 to 20 minute walk from where the restaurants are, so I walked off any extra calories consumed at the Governor's after a pleasant dinner on the patio watching a spectacular sunset. Very unfortunately, it looked as if very few rooms at the hotel actually face the river. But it was a good place to sleep, and I would return.
