So So
My wife and I were disappointed with our first room. The carpets on the floor were very old and stained. The bed we had sunk down to the middle, it was a very old mattress and very uncomfortable. The room had a strange musty smell, smelt like something was wet and old, musky. The room was parially renovated, the renovated parts looked nice but the old parts took away from the effect of the renovations. We had a hard time sleeping on the bed so the next mornign we asked for another room. The staff were excellent and accommodated our request without fuss. OIUr second room was basically the same room, but this one smelled cleaner andf ther bed was slightly more comfortable. The great thing about this hotel was its location. It was close to everything! Made getting around with out a car easy

Poor
Made to feel unwelcome
When we checked in on Thursday July 27th the staff did not mention that there was construction going on and would likely disrupt our sleep the following morning. We were woken up at 7am to loud drilling noises. When we asked the front desk staff about it they were not helpful at all and did not offer any sort of solution to the problem. Later that day (July 28th) we noticed a paper posted in the elevator advising of a water shutdown scheduled for the following day from 10am-1pm. The hotel checkout is at 1pm so we had no water for the last 3 hours of our stay. We were again woken up at 7am from the construction noise. Around 10pm we were talking in our room, no loud music was playing and hotel security came to the door to tell us we were being too loud. We spoke to the front desk agent about this and they informed us the hotel has a 24-hour quiet policy. This was a surprise to us as we were woken up both mornings with no warning from the hotel. I was very disappointed with the way the hotel handled all of these situations. There was no offer to compensate us for the inconveniences of the construction and the water shutdown. I will not be returning to this hotel and will advise all friends, family, and coworkers to avoid booking here.

Exceptional
Really nice hotel with a great patio
Room was spotless, really well kept. Service was fast and friendly. The hot tub, patio, fitness center, and sauna are all on the same floor - which is really nice! The patio is really gorgeous and has a great view. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the $22 parking fee - way too expensive.

Very good
The staff were incredibly helpful, efficient and friendly. They are excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The parking is horrible. Staying at the hotel should not incur a parking charge especially when the parking is so tight IT SCRATCHED THE TOP OF MY VEHICLE (FORD F150) . The breakfast was just ok.

Great hotel in central location
I stayed at the Cambridge Suites Halifax for a few nights while on a business trip. I was immediately greeted by very friendly staff at the reception. The service was courteous, quick and welcoming. This was a sign of things to come, since all the staff I met were very polite and friendly whether it be the cleaning staff, those at reception or in the breakfast room. My room was very clean, nicely decorated and modern. It is clear that there is a successful effort made to keep the hotel looking new and up-to-date. The Wi-Fi in the room worked well and responded quickly. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and a generous selection of food was offered. The hotel features an exercise center which is well equipped, especially compared to many other hotels. It offers a view of the Citadel, which is nice, and which speaks to the great, central location of the hotel. I would highly recommend the Cambridge Suites Halifax to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the city.
