Salem experience
Staff was great and accommodating. Rooms were large and eclectic. It is an old building that has its charms and it’s challenges. The hotel is walking distance from most of the downtown restaurants and sites. Change your expectations to rustic and you love this place. Breakfast was also different, but nice

Lovely stay at this charming inn. The ease of starting a fire in the fireplace was great. The evening sherry was a nice touch. Breakfast had a variety of choices plus eggs with excellent service. Good location too..

Delightful experience, with few extra spirits!
We had a wonderful stay! The inn is just lovely and so close to everything. We had a great time the first night having sangria and cheese while meeting the owner's daughter, who was just lovely. We were there to celebrate my 50th birthday, my best friend, who is a psychic medium was able to tell the owner's daughter about the spirits she was encountering in the inn. I recommend that anyone look into the history of the inn before they stay, it is quite interesting. Hopefully we can come back and walk through all of the properties to see who is still around. My friend saw 4 spirits, in the Salem Inn, all were curious to approach my friend, especially a young woman in a nightgown who's name is Christina(not Catherine) and a man in uniform (Captain West?) Morning brunch is delicious, a great way to start the day! I would definitely recommend the Salem Inn as a great experience, warm and cozy, with a view of the Witch House and ghosts, what else could you ask for while in Salem!

Lovely hotel...a few extra guests
Beautiful historic hotel and we stayed in a wonderful family suite in the West House. Kind staff let us check in early and helpful with parking. Complimentary wine and cheese in the courtyard was definitely a bonus. We did experience some unexplained occurrences in our room that evening and later found out other guests (based on google search) have had the same. It didn’t feel like anything negative but rather seemed to be playful, if a bit insistent. Either way, it led to a great “Salem” story to share with friends and family. We won’t soon forget it.

Very lovely and quaint inn
The inn is very quaint and has lots of nice touches in terms of furniture and decor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was well stocked with necessary items (enough towels, floor mat, garbage can, tissues, etc.) There were enough outlets for us and the wifi was good, both of which I found surprising in such an old building! The parking situation was a bit befuddling (we got there after hours when all we had was a note, not a person to ask) -- the parking was behind a different building down the street, and it was completely full by the time I got there so I had to wander around a bit. (I found onstreet parking not too far away.) There's a registration/loading spot right at the main building. Breakfast was nice -- omelettes, various breads, fruit, and a good assortment of beverages. Breakfast is in a separate part of the building with its own door so you actually need to go outdoors to get to breakfast. Fortunately for us, the weather was nice. ;)

2 night visit to Salem
Our stay at The Salem Inn in September this year was great. The room was immaculately clean and comfortable with a lovely ensuite shower room. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast provided was excellent including fresh omelettes made to order. The inn is in easy walking distance of all the attractions Salem has to offer, the Peabody Essex Museum being a particular highlight.
