Decent budget option for those who don't mind..
Staying in a slightly more gritty end of town.. which is fine for me! I stayed at the Ramada for 6 nights. The double room was a good size for a solo traveller. May have been less comfortable if there were 2 people plus luggage though. Bed was comfortable, linens were nice. Pillows were quite plump, and the quilt was too warm for me (overkill, I needed the aircon on chiller). Window was not able to be opened. Coffee maker provided, was able to borrow a kettle. Shower and bath were decent too. Hairdryer provided, nothing beyond standard there. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Hotel is an easy walk with a backpack from either Vancouver City Centre or Yaletown skytrain stations, makes getting from the airport to hotel nice an easy, especially for $7.75! I liked the Morrissey Hotel next door for a drink and some eats - sitting in the Morrissey listening to Morrissey was a perfect way to entertain myself for a whiles after a big day of walking about Van.

Not a hotel to take a family to. Bad environment surrounding the hotel. Hotel is old and room smelt mouldy.

Very outdated
Stayed after a tour for 3 nights. Lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite. Hotel could do with a facelift. Very outdated. Staff were friendly and helpful and room was clean, but very expensive for what you get. Location was good, but wouldn't stay in Yale Town again. Dirty streets littered with cigarette butts and beggars. The streets smelt of urine.

Great location, but
First stay in extremely small uncomfortable room. Later stay for 7 nights had a much better room on 6th floor. Rooms lower down very small

Comfortable room, but hotel needs facelift
The room was comfortable and well-appointed but not spacious The hotel is let down by its hallways and elevators which badly need a facelift. The location is good for public transport. It is on the Granville St corridor between Granville Island and the cruise terminal area, with easy connections downtown to Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain and Chinatown. With a day transit pass, it is easy to get almost anywhere. The surrounding neighbourhood is OK with shops and restaurants within walking distance, and it is far better choice than the Chinatown area.
