The lobby, restuarants, and bar looked beautiful. The rest of the stay was lackluster to say the least, especially considering the price of the room. Parking was easy, but everything else was a struggle. Of the 4 people working the desk, only one seemed to have a grasp on job duties and problem solving. We got checked in, went up to the room, and could not get in with our keys. We went back down to the lobby, had the keys reset, and still could not get in. We called down to the desk from the phone by the elevators, and they said they would send someone to help us. We waited.... no one came. I went back down to the lobby, where it would seem I was the one burdening an inexperienced staff with my bizarre problem. I was told security would escort me to my room to wait with me until the engineer arrived. And again, I waited. It wasn't until my husband called me to tell me the engineer and security were at the room to assist us, that I got back on the elevator and went up. No help from the staff memeber at the desk, she watched me stand there looking around like a turkey in a rainstorm. I met the security officer, engineer, and my husband at the room, where they were attempting to reset our lock. They were on the walkie with a programmer who asked them the same questions several times reluctantly trying to avoid coming to our room. The security guard demanded he come down and reprogram the door. We waited. Finally he appeared, reset the door, and we were in business. After anhour

Nice, but chaos in the lobby and awful restaurants
Theres nothing around here in the mornings for even coffee. The food court in the mall on the next block doesnt open until 9 or 10 on the weekends, and all the doors are locked but one, so you cant get in there. The hotel has a Starbucks but it is the worst I i have ever been at. We ate and drank there 6 times (we had vouchers) and we got the wrong food, 2 sandwiches mislabeled so I bit into something I was allergic to, name wrong on one so it sat around for 15 minutes before they figured it was mine. The Miller cafe had bland food and an extremely long wait. Restaurant was less than half full and it took 1h15m to get an appetizer for lunch (was hot sauce on fries with a few cheese curds for $10) 45 minutes to get food for dinner, and they were telling others they couldnt get carryout orders. There was an unleashed dog running around doing whatever it wanted, an "employee" of the hotel. It wouldnt listen to the owner or whomever he was, disrupted our event at least 20 times both the dog and the weird guy coming to get the dog. Almost tripped over the dog when I checked in, would have been awful, just recovering from surgery. I could have bled to death internally. The Skywalk to the convention was off limits (security wouldnt let me in despite me being a vendor at the convention center) and the hotel didnt know why. Had to walk a huge detour to get to the event across the street.

My friends and I were in town for a show and what I really liked about this hotel that it was right next to the venue. Other than that.. The pictures that depict the room style of the hotel is very misleading. My friends and I booked a 1 Bedroom King size executive suite. We arrived early and the hotel provided us a 1 room with a king size bed and a pull out sofa. I had to go back down the lobby and let them know that this was not the room that we looked at online. They provided us another room which now looked like the room we wanted. But when we got to the room, the cleaning services were knocking and telling us that this room was not ready and they were cleaning stain. I had to go back down and talk to the front and talk to them about moving us but according to front desk lady, that the hotel was accommodating a wedding and that every suite was booked. Overall our stay at the hotel felt very dirty, the cleaning services did a piss poor job with cleaning our hotel. They didn't even flip the mattress or clean around our room. The pull out sofa had a thin mattress that was very uncomfortable to sleep on. I had been in this hotel a year for my brother in laws bachelor party and I remember clean rooms and amazing services. Things have changed and probably won't be staying at this hotel again. I love Milwaukee and Hilton but that weekend was the worst hospitality that I have ever witnessed.

Overpriced for amenities.
I’m easy to please, but I do look for value. There was none here. Was surprised for the price that the room had no fridge, no data ports to charge anywhere without a block, no pool, not even a continental breakfast. Motel 6 13 miles south was more impressive. Seriously. I don’t need chandeliers. and I was received by a front desk person who literally told me there was nothing going on in the hotel the next day even though I drove over 400 miles for conference that was all over the hotel throughout the fourth and fifth floors. I think her unwillingness to check on her misinformation was very unnerving and I had to wait till the next day just find out the truth. She directed me across the street that everything was probably in the building across the street which was not!! I asked if there was any cheaper parking then $30 and she said that there was the parking ramp next-door. I am not from around here. I asked the man in the top hat at the front about parking and he said I could park across the street for $15. Why couldn’t she have told me that? And honestly while you are checking a guest in it is very unprofessional to flash a look across to another front desk clerk kind of talking about me in front of my face while I’m standing right there. This person was really not about service at all she seemed annoyed by my presence and that she had to do anything at that moment. Wish I remembered her name. Just the most unaccommodating reception I’ve ever had. Top hat man good.

Nice stay at Hilton Milwaukee City Center
Staff were friendly at check in (I had to go back to the front desk after we parked because the scanner in the parking garage did not work and would not scan our room key - they said it was a problem with the scanner and they were aware of it - would have been nice if they had mentioned that to me when I first got my room keys, though). One of the beds in our room (room 607) was NOT comfortable at all - it was all lopsided and one side was firm and they other side was sunk in and very soft and squishy. Unfortunately my husband had the squishy side, which he hates, so he did NOT sleep well. Location was excellent, restaurant (Chophouse) was excellent, room service staff were very friendly Sunday morning and the food was good. Hotel was quiet even though we were right near the elevators - no other guests made any noise that I heard during our stay. Housekeeping checking with us Sunday morning to see what time we were leaving so they didn't disturb us, which I thought was good of them. We will probably stay at this hotel again in the future and hopefully the beds will be comfortable the next time.
