Good 6.0
Four Points Orlando is a very nice and clean hotel, very friendly staff over the years I have stayed many times when this was my territory, but it has been a while. On this trip I booked thru when I chose the rooms I wanted I chose (2) junior king suites for $129.00 per night, The staff was very friendly and professional, we checked in. When we got to the rooms which was on the top 21st. floor. It was Very nice clean, comfortable, every thing you expect, with a great view.. But it was not a suite it was a standard double room. which if I booked would have been only $109. per night a saving of $20. per room or $40.. Not a lot of money but still $40. When I called the front desk they either said they don't have the junior king suite or non were available but either way. They would not refund the difference between the rooms. So for that reason as nice and affordable this hotel may be I will never stay with them. There loss over $40. Here is a business that does not understand the value of a life time customer. Great hotel just book the cheapest room available for that is what you will receive.

Horrible communication and service
The hotel offers shuttles to Universal and Disney and we were told they leave exactly at their designated times. We arrived 5 mins early for one and it had already left. The other shuttle was supposed to leave (per their brochure) at 10:45a and when we checked in 15 mins early, we were told it wasn't leaving until 11:25. We ubered instead. If you go to their website and click features, it says indoor pool. The pool was outside and it was too cold (52 degrees) to use. The hotel restaurant costs you an outrageous amount for breakfast ($15 plus taxes = $18.62). We went down for dinner one night and waited almost 10 mins and no one was in there to help. We went out to eat instead. The next night, we came back from a park and asked if there was somewhere to heat up our leftovers and were told that there was a microwave in our room. We couldn't remember seeing a microwave but she insisted and said if there wasn't one to dial 0 and they would bring one up. We got to the room, dialed 0 and were told that no microwaves were available but they could move us to another room (on our last night) or we could go to the restaurant to heat the food. We go back downstairs and were told no we could not heat our food in the restaurant and there are no longer microwaves in any rooms. They said they'd try to bring one up to us... 45 mins later we finally got a microwave. The lack of communication in this place was a huge turn off.

Exceptional 10.0
We couldn't have picked a better hotel. We were skeptical at the beginning because all the reviews said that this was an outdated hotel, old, needed renovations, etc. but we sincerely didn't see any of that. The hotel is in perfect conditions. The room was perfect. The best thing about it besides the location which is near anything you would need on this trip is the bed. Most comfortable bed we've slept in our lives. It is amazing. Like I said before the location is perfect. About five minutes away to Universal parks on uber, you can walk if you prefer, it takes about 20 minutes but when you are going to spend all day in the parks its better if you save some energy. An uber is just 6-7 dollars each way. If you are visiting the Disney Parks is only 15 minutes drive. We rented a car because we didn't want to depend on a shuttle and their schedules so we can't really comment on that but they do offer a shuttle service and sell you any tickets you may need, we bought our in advance. Check in is at 4:00 pm but our flight arrived early so we got to the hotel about 11 11:30 am and they gave us our room right away, we didn't even have to ask. Check in was super easy, didn't take more than 5 - 10 minutes to be honest. Our room got cleaned every single day we were there. They put new bottles of water every day, even if we didn't drink the ones from the day before. Honestly the value for Price of this hotel is amazing. I would definitely stay there again!!

If you want air conditioning look elsewhere.
The air conditioning did not go below 80 degrees the first and the room phone did not work at check-in. Mainanence did fix the phone the first day. When I was leaving for my conference on day #2, I told a a gentleman at the fron desk. He said they would check on it and have it fixed for when I returned. Upon returning that evening, it was late and I need sleep. Once again I sweated through the night as the temperature in the hallway was much cooler than in my room. I made a report again the following morning and again the staff apologized and said they would check it again that day. I arrived back at the hotel for my final night and I was greeted by the manager asuring me the air conditioner is now working. Finally the temperature was comfortable to sleep. Orlando is not a comfortable place to sleep in the summer without air conditioning. When you pay upwards of $140 a night for a hotel, this is a needed ammenetie. I asked for some sort of compensation, but since I booked with, I was told to take up this matter with them. If I need to be in the Orlando area again, at least I know there are plenty of hotel choices available. The staff were genuinely nice people, but sweating while you sleep in a hot room didn't help me to enjoy my short three night stay there all that much.

Best I can say is great location and views!
I actually stayed at this same hotel 10 years ago and it wasn't the greatest then, but they were also doing construction at the time. Spent two nights there this past weekend and my opinion of this hotel hasn't changed. The location is excellent to Univeral and we got a room with a view facing the theme parks, so we had amazing views. The pool they say is heating, but it really isn't. They said pool closes at 10 pm, but for some reason it didn't close until 11 pm and even on the 8th floor you can hear people chatting and yelling in the pool area. Also, make sure to ask for a room away from the elevators because the people waiting at the elevators tend to be loud and there is not a sign about being quiet or having lower voices in that waiting area. What I did like was that the greeters were very pleasant and welcoming. There's always fresh water in the lobby for guest to drink and we asked for more towels and got them within 10 minutes. In the end, I will probably never stay at this hotel again. I learned my lesson after two times. If you want a place that is decent and close to Universal, this is a great place for 1 to 2 nights.
