Could have been great but was MEH!
So, I was very excited when I checked in late night and was shown to a suite. They had said at the desk that I had two reservations and that I would have to get a new key the next morning. Sort of. What they did was tell me to pack up and then move me to the "standard" room that I had booked in the first place. This would be fine except being told that I was the one to have done the two reservations when that was not the case at all. They also gave me a tourist travel document they said I needed for customs - and then held it since I was there two more nights. They were also obsessed with the mini-bar - which my fridge was empty anyway. The suite was VERY nice! Really. One of the nicest suites I have been in for awhile - and this is a Soviet era hotel. The standard room was fine except for the lack of anything other than cinderblocks with boards to sit on. Okay, it was not that bad but the seats were terribly uncomfortable. So I went down to the lobby/lounge area with my store bought sodas/beers to hang out on a comfortable chair. Also, the water was foul smelling. I had been warned about Russian water but the other cities visited were fine. This really stank. Overall, the hotel is nice, small and has a European vibe. The location is great - and in a very nice neighborhood. The staff is fluent in English and competent. Would I stay there again? Meh...maybe.

An overpriced outdated hotel. You pay for location
I stayed at Marko Polo Presnja on business for 4 nights in October. I have not spent much time at the hotel and room I was only sleeping. But to be honest, it was a good thing as hotel is outdated and requires massive renovation. It seems like it was stuck in 90s, sticky stains on the carpet in the room and a bit smelly. Overall I would say it was definitely overpriced for the price I paid and I won’t stay there again. And I did not even stay during the peak season. You can find much better options in Moscow for $140 per night.

Very good 8.0
Good in parts
What a pity our stay this time was marred by a defective air conditioning unit which rattled all night and a guest in an adjoining room who obviously had hearing difficulties by the noise emitted but the television and his phone conversations Sadly, our last impression was of the duty manager insistent that we use the official taxi company with which the hotel has a contract -R1200 to the station - rather than the local taxi company -R200 for the same trip - and a rather dismissive comment of “what did you come on, a bicycle?” We would have given the hotel much praise, but sadly cannot

Exceptional 10.0
Stylish hotel is perfect location for Moscow
Stylish hotel - nice size, not too large. Good buffet breakfast. Friendly staff. The main reason for staying in this hotel is so that you can explore Moscow by foot as it is within walking distance to Red Square, Arbat, and even on the road of the hotel itself are fantastic bars and restaurants.. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Moscow.

Exceptional 10.0
Excellent choice
Excellent hotel just next to the Patriarshiye Ponds, right in the middle of the trendy restaurants/bars area attracting masses of young well-to-do muscovites. We basically had no view, but the room was very quiet, very comfortable. Great location: safe and central.
