About this property
The name Acharacle comes from the Gaelic Ath Tharracail or Torquil's fjord, following a battle in 1120 nearby across the River Shiel, between the Celtic-Norse warrior Somerled and the Norse invader Torquil here,
Acharacle is on the Ardnamcurchan Penisula which is very popular for it’s fishing, hiking and beautiful scenery. Boat hire and cruises are available on Loch Shiel and Loch Sunart, which you can enjoy whale watching and bird watching.
It’s a 10 min drive from the caravans to the lovely beach of Artoe or you could walk to the singing sands. Dorlin Castel or castel Tioram is an old ruin castle whidh 10 mins away.
The caravans are easy walking distance from Acharacle which has a shop, places to eat and postoffice.
If the weather isn’t too great you can take a drive and visit Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, the most westerly point on the British mainland and on the way you can stop at the Adelphi Distillery and the Glenmore Natural History Centre.. Or you could head to Glenfinnan which the most famous steam train or we call it “the Harry Potter train”, And visit the Monument of Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Great location
We had a fantastic few days and found the accommodation great and enjoyed the location. Karen gave us a warm welcome. Arisaig has a super pub with a fabulous and delicious selection of specials. Arisaig and Ardermurchan have wonderful beaches and local walks are great too.

Cosy and quiet
Lovely caravan, beautiful views set in a quiet village. Nice place to go to get away and relax. Caravan was super clean and a lovely touch of being left some fresh eggs which went down a treat. Would 100% stay again.

Acharacle Caravan
We really enjoyed our short stay in Karen's caravan and were really lucky with some stunning weather. The Caravan is well equipped with great views over the river.
