Location: less than 5 minutes walk to Gare du Nord\Paris Nord station so that is very convenient for travelers. However, the area is very shady especially at night and I don't feel safe walking around with my family. Room: overall clean and space is adequate but the carpet makes my feet itch and it seems like they have not been cleaning the sofa bed. Also, there is only one complementary small water bottle for a "family room". I paid extra 50 Euros to get to a family room and I was asking for additional water but the receptionist said no. The assistant manager was very rude. She shouted at me while I was trying to explain something to her regarding our case. I told here she does not have to shout but then she turned away from me and talked to another guest. The receptionist when we checked in was not rude but he was not helpful at all and he never gave me options. I booked a room big enough for two adults and when I told him I have a child that can co sleep with us for one night he declined and said we need to pay additional 50 euros for a family suite. After much discussions I agreed to pay for the upgrade. Later I found out on my own that they actually have a summer promotion that takes 15% off of each night stay plus free breakfast. he never offered that to me and even declined honoring it for the room that I just paid for about an hour ago.

The hotel itself is in a good location (close to metro / train stations) - although - not the nicest area. I wouldn't want to walk around alone late at night. The staff were nice and welcoming, but we did find a beg bug during our stay. It was traumatizing to say the least. I understand that it can happen anywhere, but the lack of appropriate response from the hotel manager at Libertel Gare du Nord Suede was disappointing. I found the bed bug and gave it to hotel reception (in a plastic baggie) the night before my departure. He recommended emailing the hotel manager which I did. I left before the manager arrived the following day. I received an email two days later that was clearly copied and pasted from corporate apologizing for the experience. It wasn't even from the manager of the hotel but someone in corporate from Libertel. It didn't even bother the substitute my just said "cher monsieur." I feel like all the hotel manager did was forward my email on to corporate for them to copy and paste a response to me. Not ok. The hotel manager is not focused on customer satisfaction with this unacceptable handling of the situation.

great surprise
within about 7 minute walk of gare du nord. you walk through some sketchy neighborhood getting there. At the end of our 3 week holiday, just getting off the eurostar from London, I just needed 2 nights before my flight out of CDG. I was a bit concerned when walking to hotel, neighborhood not best, typical for right around the train station. I was so happily surprised when we arrived at hotel, clean, modern entrance. personnel could not have been nicer at check in. very nice modern lobby. room was on third floor and although small, it was such a really nice and efficient design and super super clean. choose a room in the back, ($10 cheaper per night when booking), windows face an enclosed courtyard, very quiet.. would stay again.

Excellent - Super clean and convenient
We got a great rate <$100/nt at this lovely little hotel. The room reminded me of an IKEA showroom room. Small and well designed with everything you need and want including great AC, coffee/tea kettle, small refrigerator, decent WiFi and TV. The front desk manager was pleasant and helpful. It was very quiet and spotless, cleanest hotel room I’ve stayed in, of any hotel class, in a very long time. The location, one block straight on from Gare du Nord, was perfect for our late arrival and early departure via Eurostar. The street from the station to the hotel has wonderful bakeries and several restaurants. The area is typical of what you will find near any large train station so we didn’t venture very far from our path and decided to take Taxis back when we were coming in late.

The gentleman at reception was wonderful. This is not an inexpensive hotel however it is very close to Gare du Nord, where we needed to be. Rooms are new and smallish. Windows open, always a plus for me. There is a breakfast offered for 10 Euro per person per day. It's worth it. The beds are comfortable. Bathroom is tiny however functional. My major issue is the shower. It's new. It's cute. It's very slippery and has no grab bars. It's also slanted towards the drain. I don't know why this is however we constantly had to purchase toilet paper. I could have called house keeping however it just doesn't make sense to me to provide a room with one and a half roll of hard, twenty sheets per roll, paper. Regardless. The location is good. Rooms are comfy. Many use friendly restaurants nearby.
