    I was never informed that the pool and exercise room were closed and the breakfast was not provided. The door handle inside my room to the main hall pulled off in my hand and i was trapped in my room until management let me out. And I was asked to switch rooms. The clerk was rude and I decided not to stay the night. I never entered the 2nd room and had to drive 2 hours exhausted to get home.

    Disappointed

    When I cked in Friday night, desk clerk not very friendly, then I noticed $20.00 additional charge to my card vs what bookings sent me as expected bill. When I questioned clerk she said there was $10 incidental charge didn’t know why I was charged $20.00. Then ice machine on 2nd floor didn’t work, there was no breakfast, and when we returned to our room sat from ball park, the beds had not been made nor fresh towels left in room. Looked to me like trying to operate hotel with desk clerk and no support staff.

    he hotel that wasn’t

    We got there and it was closed and had been closed for a week. They said they sent out emails but we did not receive one and had gotten confirmation that morning that everything was fine. They made no effort to find another place to stay or apologize they just kept repeating they sent an email. It was 9:30 in the evening when we arrived.

    Property could certainly use an upgrade. Checked -in and the receptionist gave me a card key for a room that was already occupied. Air Conditioner did not work properly at all. Failed to cool the room down properly and then at one point during the last night started sounding like a motorcycle, We had to turn the AC off and it got warm in the room.

    Hotels.com misadvertised

    The room Hotels.com advertised and what i booked were not the same. I booked a room with microwave and fridge. Room had neither. Hotel staff said this Hampton has never offered those amenities. I tried to book the Hampton Inn in Niles, Mich which i saw on Google earth. I punched up my Hotels.com app and thought i was booking this Hampton only to inadvertantly book the Hampton Inn in South Bend. Not happy with Hotels.com.

    The hotel is nice but we were surprised by the lack of service. We have stayed here in the past and had excellent service. We only saw two employees the entire stay and we had no room service. We were advised it was due to Covid 19. We were not advised of this at check in so we were surprised when we returned to our room after our first day out and the cleaning people had not come in at all.

    The outside was a mess. Completely overgrown. It looked uncared for. Because of covid, there was no breakfast, nor did they come into the rooms daily to clean. I completely understand why, but there was no communication about it, even when we checked in. I had to ask the front desk about both things. We should’ve been told about the changes to the service.
