Exceptional 10.0
The room was comfortable, spacious, clean and the decor stylish. The only negative comment was that shower space was not a good design, water came out onto the bathroom floor in front of the basin, the bath mat got very wet. A suggestion for the hotel is could you provide a plate along with some cutlery in the room, to have a snack. We ate breakfast only once as the hotel had no grain bread available, in fact it was a very poor selection of bread. We enjoyed our stay it is very convenient to the station to catch a bus to the airport and also to the CBD for amazing restaurants and shopping. We will definately return when booking Melbourne again for a short stay. Kerry & Ray

Very Accomodating
I was travelling from Alice Springs to Melbourne for the Vincent Van Gogh exhibition which I had organised several tickets for friends as a surprise birthday gift for a friend who had no idea I was coming over. When I was checking in the staff were very friendly and showed interest in how my day was and where I had come from and they made me feel very welcome. I noticed that there was a baby grand piano in the foyer and explained that I was a professional musician of sorts and asked if I could organise to play it the next day when my friend arrived at the Savoy as part of the surprise and I would be sitting there playing happy birthday. The duty manager was more than happy to let me play the piano and suggested that I try it out that night. I have been in other Hotels in the past where they have refused my request and I would at that most of the time that it is refused it is done rudely. I played for a couple of minutes that night and the next day for the surprise. The staff on the front desk even went out of their way to make Tea for myself and my friend whilst we waited for my other friends to turn up. When I checked out I was going to the Art Exhibition and then onto a show and the front desk had no problems storing my bags until quite late that night. I found the whole experience to be a great welcome to Melbourne.

Good 6.0
Love the toilet decor. Convenient location to get around places. Was a gd stay overall but what I felt was a pity that this pretty hotel deserves better frontline staffs. Seems that the hospitality is strongly dependent on whose fronting the reception. Most times it was cold (not smiley ) and totally not synonymous with the 4.5 star hotel. If u ask me, it’s fine for a 3 star / backpacker/ hostel ... but not a full fledge hotel like Savoy and such pretty hotel to say the least.

Exceptional 10.0
This was our first stay here and had booked a standard QS room. We were pleasantly surprised to find we were upgraded to a KS room, which was large, roomy with exceptionally lovely decor, mirrored cupboard and doors. The foyer was glamorous, luxurious, the staff were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We loved reading the information on the history of the hotel in the foyer. The hotel was right across the road from Southern Cross Train Station & Skybus terminal. It was so close to all transport and conveniently located close to a grocery stores (in Southern Cross Station) and several restaurants close by. Negatives: 1. The shower is over the bath and there is a long drop to the floor when you step out of the shower. There needs to be an additional grab-rail at the end of the bath as the bath was very high so OR a built in step at the end of the bath. 2. It would be helpful if there were instructions on how to use the TV - we couldn't get ours to work but we were so tired after our long days we couldn't be bothered worrying about it. 3. Needs instructions on how to deactivate the alarm on the clock radio (or staff to turn it off after each guest checks out). The alarm went off really early one morning and the only way we could stop it was to unplug it. We will definitely come back again.

Fair 4.0
We requested to be moved into a another room, as our room was next to the male toilets on level 2. When you can hear the toilet roll turning, you could imagine the other sounds we could hear. On moving to another room we found the TV did not wok and had to call reception for them to send someone up to reset the TV. The bed
